Barrow v Aston Villa
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
Hi guys,
May I suggest something and pls tell me to F Off if you don't like it.
I think many Villa fans will come on to this forum to check out the chat and discuss the game. We would also like to find out more about your players and style of football etc. There is potentially an opportunity to get some good discussion about football. It may make sense to open another thread about the actual game between Barrow and Aston Villa and have a separate thread about ticket allocation. Most visiting fans would just click another website if they just see a discussion about allocation.
I apologise that I do not know more about the football you play but I would love to find out. Are u an attacking team or a defensive team? Do u play 3 at the back or 5? Do u have any star players etc. I think a lot of Villa fans visiting your site would like to know these things.
Please don't take this post as condescending. I am a football fan like you guys, we just happen to support different teams. I am not better than u guys and vice versa. I have total respect for you getting back in the league and staying there and I hope we all enjoy the cup tie.

Christ. Peter Withe. Theres a name from the past. I'd almost forgotten he had played for Barrow. Was it one game?
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
I'm sure something like that will appear, but lets get this week out of the way, 2 big games coming up against Hartlepool and ExeterVillaFan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 10:38 pm Hi guys,

Regarding paragraph 2 I think it's something we are hoping to find out ourselves soon as well! New manager installed (Mark Cooper - Terry's lad) and a largely new team. Not really any star names but new signing George William's has played in the top divisions and for Wales. You might also have heard of Dmitri Sea .
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
He is a hero and a legend at Villa. I was not aware we had him in common. How many other ex Barrow players scored the winner in a European Cup final? He is the only player in Villa's history who managed that accolade
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
Yes I have heard of Sea. I must say I like French players. It will be a really interesting game as I expect Villa will play a weakened team. But some of our u23s are very very good. We put up a very good show against a full strength Liverpool team in the Cup last season we had Covid and led 1-0 at half time. Our normal style of play if 4-3-3 but we currently only have 2 GKs in the senior team and are looking to sign one. Tom Heaton was our number 2 but he went to Man U as a backup GK a few weeks ago. So maybe EMi Martinez, who just won the Copa with Messi's Argentina will start or be on the bench. If Jed Steer starts he is a good GK but can make mistakes. Worst case for you is if we play Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings up front, I suspect they may score. But if we play a weakened side and the fact that we are playing League 2, there will be huge pressure on them to excel. You guys will be well up for this and if u take advantage of the pressure we are under u never know what may happenFalstaff wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 10:53 pmYou're very welcome and some good questionsVillaFan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 10:38 pm Hi guys,

Got my trust renewel, but certainly never got any consent form etc..JammyBluebird wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 12:48 pmI'm sorry Mike has got this wrong.
GDPR legislation means that we can store your personal information that you give when you join. It's against the law for us to then share that with another organization (in this case Barrow AFC) without individual consent.
A form was sent to everyone with a membership a few weeks ago. If people don't complete that form then the trust will be unable to share their details to Barrow AFC and thus won't be able to add them to a priority list.
We are currently taking a lot of new memberships and renewals so please bare with us while we work through the pile (this is done by volunteers with time jobs), more news will follow in the next few days.

I have zero chance of getting a ticket from the Villa side of things. Just noticed how very reasonable the hospitality prices are at your place, even allowing for the inevitable mark up for a one off cup game, anyone know if away fans can purchase hospitality tickets (subject to availability obvs).

I was looking at that too. Hospitality is very reasonable. I was thinking of an overnight trip to Barrow. I also like the idea of going to a local pub to watch the game live on Sky. There should be a great atmosphere
