So you don't recognize the correlation between good attendances and a successful club or at least a self sufficient club?
Your arguing with a WUM who is just after nibbles
Ah thanks.

An entertaining game with the ref letting a few tackles go. A great three points to get our season started. Thought we would have had 3000+ today but there you go. I think we have a very decent squad and led by a good captain in Ellis. Roll on Tuesday.
Exeter had a defender sent off today.

Remember how long we had to wait for a win last season

Great result today. What a difference from last season. The lads dug deep and didn,t give up.Three fantastic goals.Pity we allowed two soft goals by them.We need to tiighten up at the back and not get caught out,but I think Mark Cooper already identified that problem and will no doubt fix it.Roll on Exeter City.More of the same please, but without letting them score. We have three players who now can score goals ,it can only mean that things will start to improve.Onwards and upwards

As far as today's attendance, don't forget it is still the holiday season and clashing with a lot of other sports.
If the team are playing good football and getting positive results attendances will improve.

Infuriating if accurate. I felt for certain there would be around 3,000 home fans. Should we have given out vouchers to attendees for this game that gave priority (after season tickets) for tickets for the Villa game?

Why is it infuriating, around 2200 Barrow fans, I think is fantastic and something to build on, couple of seasons ago we were jubilant if we got over 1200….. How many did you expect and where were those people going to come from, many football fans play or watch local matches on a Saturday and do you really think there are that many other potential fans in Barrow with only a population or around 65,000 going to come along…..

Great attendance great result let’s build on it all…..
IMHO it’s poor Zulu, Factor in its the opening home game of the season ( Which Historically is a higher than average gate) also figure in its the 1st unrestricted game for what 18 months & we are now in the League etc

I was fully expecting at least 3k locals & yes our population is around 65k but our catchment area population is almost double that as we draw fans in from Millom/Haverigg & their out laying villages & Ulverston, G-o-Sands & Flookbough etc

New Gaffer & newer players etc….

Why o why didn’t the club say something along the lines of …..When they know the number of Villa tickets that will go onto “General Sale” Priority will go to those who save their ticket stub or electronic record from the Pools & Exeter games….Bar ST holders obvs .. Even if only an extra few hundred turn up who wouldn’t of otherwise, so they maximise they chances of snagging a Villa ticket it would have been worth it for the clubs finances.

:scarf: Great result, great battling performance, great atmosphere. On to Tuesday :scarf:
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you :scarf:

Decent afternoon that but not sure my heart can take that every week.
Great to see the fanzone busy with loads buying tickets etc, shop was busy too.
Decent enough game which seemed to just open up after Zanzalas goal.
2 defensive mistakes for us, Great to see all 3 goals coming from strikers.
Josh Gordon rightly named MOM by the sponsors.
Mark Ellis must of been right behind him. Another captains performance.
White/banks decent too.
Great 3 pts but injuries piling up. Sea pulled up with hamstring and white struggling late on.
Friendly warning for the bottle thrower in the HS end. That CCTV is such good quality it can see how many hairs you have on your chin.....Don't be getting a ban....

Sea had a bang on the head - that's why a fourth sub was allowed.

Yes that's why a 4th sub was allowed and the official reason. However he pulled his hamstring straight after that and that was the reason he went off. Why do you think both dugouts were arguing for 5 minutes

Great game today overcast by violence on Devonshire Road and in the Holker St end. Full on 1980s scrapping. Hopefully the CCTV will ban all the muppets smashing little kids with feet and fists. Idiots.

Good idea. Do it for Tuesday and get it publicised!

Very emotional seeing my first FL match at Holker St. for 49 years. Great result was the icing on the cake. Not much between the teams, it could have gone either way but I think we just about deserved it. Good atmosphere in the ground - that's one thing that's changed since the 1970s; back then very few teams would bring any substantial away support, let alone 600+.
