Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
Why is the segregation not equal both sides of the perspex,
Both sides of perspex have yellow no go areas. But saw barrow support get moved at least 2 metres away from the screen whilst dossers from hartlepool were right up against it.
Looked like poor policing and stewarding to me.

Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
From where we were (kiosk end of the popular side) it looked like more and more Hartlepool fans kept migrating into that small section. Looked overcrowded at times and nothing done about them banging on the perspex all game.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:03 pm Why is the segregation not equal both sides of the perspex,

Could've sworn I saw one of our side headbutt the perspex early on. Looked an absolute zoo on both sides at times
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you

Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
Daft not having a line off stewards either side off the divide or a police presence. Sounds a bit horrific but there might be a need for another grid fence before the perspex. First proper home game plenty too learn from for our staff stewards and owners. One thing I will say though the amount off force being put into that divide surprised it did nt collapse and when higher level nutters turn up such as Bradford and Carlisle it could collapse that
Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
You actually need police to be there for it to be poor policing. When they eventually did turn up it was too late and the stewards were already on the back foot. Just like normal the police turn up when the first wave of violence has already happened. They should have been stood at the barriers from when both sets of fans poured in. Barrow police are a jokeboyliegladbach wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:03 pm Why is the segregation not equal both sides of the perspex,

Agreed, I’m a season ticket holder and didn’t go to a single match last season and I haven’t been this season because it doesn’t feel safe to do so. I might just pluck up enough courage to go to the Exeter game. I usually stand on the open part of the Popside towards the Steelworks End.kenny lowe fan club wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 9:56 pm quite a lot of our regular supporters that stand near me have just not returned. These are people that have been attending for years. They are older people that are probably concerned about thieir health or have lost confidence in going out. So if this is happening in all parts of the ground it is a lot of missing regulars

Serious question, do you ever leave house, go to supermarket etc?Dalton Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:24 pmAgreed, I’m a season ticket holder and didn’t go to a single match last season and I haven’t been this season because it doesn’t feel safe to do so. Yes I go out plenty but I stay out of the way of people and wear a mask in shops. I know it’s probably silly but it’s still possible to catch Covid 19 outdoors if in a crowd and I’m not sure if I want to risk it. My choice after all and the club are still getting my money wether I go or not.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:30 pmSerious question, do you ever leave house, go to supermarket etc?Dalton Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:24 pm

Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
The police and club need to get together to discuss future planning for any more big games,a few clubs are going to bring large support so we have to prepare better than this .
Before the game I was walking opposite the tally ho carpark when some Boisterous Barrow lads were walking towards the ground, when a bus load of Hartlepool fans stopped and got off intent on causing trouble !
How were they allowed to do this?
Why weren't the buses escorted to the ground?
inside the ground, I feared for our stewards, they did a brilliant job,but where were the police? they arrived far too late!
if that had of spilled onto the pitch, we could have been facing sanctions!
WHY can't the away fans be held back?, this happens in the Premier league etc ? there were lot's of concerned parents with their kids who had to walk through a gauntlet of abuse and intimidation !
This CANNOT be allowed to happen again!

Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
In the past you had to pay for the police maybe it's the cost is the reason that we do not have them at any games.
If a incident occurs they come out at taxpayers expense.

Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
I quite agree with what’s been said about stewarding. Management knew in advance that the away zone was sold-out with 600 + Hartlepool fans. The HSE standing zone was packed to the gills (over-capacity it seemed) with adolescent males, no doubt most of whom had a skinful. When the flag-pulling incident happened at 2.45pm, there were only 2 or 3 stewards, completely outnumbered, stationed at the bottom by the wall. This incident could have turned really nasty should both-sides have decided to crash the divider en-masse, which could easily have collapsed. It was only AFTER the problem started that 4 additional stewards came into the Ground from the STREET, followed 10 minutes later by 5 uniformed Police who also been OUTSIDE. In future, if the away section is sold out, enough Stewards should be on-hand at the divide earlier. A 30’ no-man’s land needs installing to separate the 2-sides. First game, so a lesson can be learned. Prevention is better than cure.

Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
Nige, your absolutely right on this. It’s a f kin disgrace and the club need to act on this before a serious incident takes place. Buses , in future should be stopped on the by pass, and travel in as one to the ground. Away supporters should be held for 10 minutes post game, and the away section needs another barrier constructed, 1 metre from the dividing fence. Get these things sorted Barrow, or we gonna get some serious incidents. The chief security man now sits in the radio commentator box on the pop side watching the on the new cctv, what the [SwearFilter] for. Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
All said, a bloody good game that today, really enjoyed it.
Re: Barrow v Hartlepool match thread
Once again an embarassing over reaction on here. Nothing but 2 sets of supporters goading each other in the ground, all adds to the atmosphere. Some people on here have nothing better to do than [SwearFilter] winge, have a day off
