i think you'll find that it was reported months ago that they have visited Accrington Stanley to do just that.

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
I'm sure they must have already Nige. And I dont doubt that a club like Preston or Blackburn would be happy to advise. I know the team at Ipswich Town who's ticketing systems are fully automated are always happy to help other clubs down here. The systems you will see however at the top end use proprietary software (have to paid for and customised) and of course are mainly designed with all seater stadia in mind (1 person, 1 ticket, 1 seat). More difficult to justify when you are still trying to establish yourself as a League club for the first time in 50 years obviously and therefore the steps we can take will be smaller and take longer.
But I think its important for supporters to realise that the move away from cash is a key enabler to making this happen and not just a whim on the part of BAFC. For those that are demanding a return to cash, well that will only happen if we disintegrate as a club. Its a cultural thing. Whilst you can still buy a ticket at a counter on the day to get into Portman Road the level of cash sales are miniscule and young, middle aged or elderly the only gripes regarding using cash will be heard around the catering areas in the ground.

I'm sure if the club wanted support, if they asked a few local companies to help set up infrastructure etc ,they would help!not withstanding that couldn't we send someone to spend time at another league 1/2 club to get a heads up?

We aren’t an Ipswich Town though, we’re a league two club with a small core of fans. They sell 20-25k on a regular basis, so gathering info makes sense. We know our catchment and I think the concern here is not the way they are to be sold but the complete silence on it from the club. If they’re updating a system or there’s another valid reason, just let people know that.

They have at least announced something, it's all rather strange
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
Tonight's game will be occupying minds now then Villa (other than when Harrogate release away tickets).

If the place is not jam-packed for a game like this, then when??
I hope there's no bullshit like years ago at the Dover game when there was easily enough space for thousands more. We need to learn from that.
Holker St can hold 6-7000 safely.

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
It's not about how many can physically fit inside it's how many its licensed to hold safely. That will always be considerably less than the physical capacity. The licensed capacity includes consideration of things like how many toilets there are, how many crush barriers, number of exits and how quickly the place can be evacuated in an emergency. Perhaps you are too young to remember the disasters at Bradford, Heysel and Hillsborough ?
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
Dont know why theres such a fuss. Will be 2500 sold before they even go on general sale.
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
In the case of a Bluebirds Trust member where it says tickets can be bought until 9am on Saturday morning, how would the website distinguish who qualifies and who doesn't for that period?
Popular side since '03.

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
Because the site will identify email addresses of those Trust members who have consented to have their details passed to the club, I imagine.
Don't let the old man in.
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
Wondering what our official capacity really is. Was told last year it is around 5600 but in football annuals etc this season it states it is 5045. I know Villa have been allocated 662. If that is 10% then the capacity is 6620. But I do know that this allocation is discretionary on our part to give them 10%.
