and yes you're right - what happened when we had all ticket matches in the past before we did online sales - people went to the ground ahead of the time and bought them - people went to the ground to buy Wembley tickets, to buy Colne tickets, to buy Enfield (Home) tickets - matches from years and years ago - and people can still buy the tickets exactly the same way now...

Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
The all ticket games you are talking about were very few and far between and yes then people did make the effort to go to the ground and purchase a ticket for those games. The difference now every single game is all ticket. Personally being a season ticket holder it does not affect me but I have every sympathy for them that it does. We like to think of ourselves as a community club that is welcome to all. Sadly by not doing cash sales on the day of the game the club is discriminating against some supporters who are less well off than others and who don't know until match day if they have the cash to attend, those who maybe for financial or personal reasons don't carry any sort of payment card. It does not matter how many the effects IMO its plain wrong. People are not making the point to hurt the club they are doing it because they care about those that this affects and the solution is simple. Make it possible for thew ticket booth in the fanzone to take cash. Carlisle do it so why can't we?chipmunx wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 8:03 pmit's Pedro you're replying too not me....liverpoolann wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 6:06 pm

It's not about cash turnstiles it's about the owners of a football club spouting all sorts of shite about engagement when they want you to buy season tickets [ i.ll bet they wouldn't have turned down a good old wedge in the middle hundreds for a couple of season tickets ] and then taking not an ounce of notice when those very same fans point out something they want changing and what makes it worse is that they're coming across as not giving a shit by refusing to defend their actions other than some crap about being unable to find anyone trustworthy enough to sell tickets for cash [ maybe PH could get in touch with me and i.ll explain to him how an operator provided float system works which completely rules out the possibility of discrepancies in the cash taken ] and at the same time i can explain to him how someone with those inclinations can actually make many times more by instigating a little card fraud but then the difference is that its the customer who loses out not the club but i.m guessing he already knows all of this and doesnt give a shit.

Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
I won’t quote all of the previous posts but Main Stand SeasonTct has pretty much nailed it. No one who comes on here wants to harm the club but that doesn’t mean they have to agree with everything that happens or the decisions being made. It doesn’t affect me as a STH but it’s unfair to certain groups of people. The kids card is also terrible idea.
Pedro is also coming in for a bit of stick, unfairly IMO as he’s only trying to make a point for those who are affected by this.
BTW Pedro, I understand your point but I wouldn’t let it deter you from attending games.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Having read this carefully, digested it and ultimately I have concluded that this post is aggressive, conceited and unnecessary. Only my opinion.NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 8:27 pmCOMPLETELY MISSING THE POINTliverpoolann wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 6:06 pm

Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
If they cant have a cash only point to buy tickets on the day can't there be a couple of shops or businesses in the town centre selling tickets for cash on a commission basis making it more accessible for some and also spreading the word about the game

After 9 pages of discussion and debate has anyone changed their opinion on the decision taken by the board?behind the goals wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 9:06 pm Any more forum members joining Pedro in never returning to Holker Street ever again.
Any one post that has convinced someone that it is the correct way to go who was against it originally?
Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
I have asked SH for the Trusts view on this. It should have been a fan led decision this one.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.
Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
People cannot or don’t want to realise that this isn’t just an“elderly person” problem but also for low income families, people who have had money troubles in the past etc. As a fan of over 30 years it [SwearFilter] me off I won’t be able to attend some matches due to their new ticketing policy but [SwearFilter] me off more that the club and some fans can’t see how much of a problem this is
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
Also an expat problem, should I ever get the chance to get to Barrow for a game, my debit card is only valid for Belize so is useless. My credit card could be used for the ticket, but as soon as I used it for little items such as a pie and pint it would be blocked leaving me with nothing to live on for the remainder of my visit to UK.tictactoe wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:44 pm People cannot or don’t want to realise that this isn’t just an“elderly person” problem but also for low income families, people who have had money troubles in the past etc. As a fan of over 30 years it [SwearFilter] me off I won’t be able to attend some matches due to their new ticketing policy but [SwearFilter] me off more that the club and some fans can’t see how much of a problem this is

Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
Stevenage away tickets can be bought on the day, same as Harrogate and Oldham ,it can be done if a club can be bothered ,seems Barrow cannot be bothered. Unlucky then if you are a child, unemployed, ,bad credit rating and quite a few pensioners .Club run by accountants.
