Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
I'm sure it's going to be a great night for your club on Tuesday (apart from the final result of course !).
Hopefully the money, the heightened profile with TV coverage and general feel good factor gives you extra momentum to properly cement you back in the league long term.
I reckon most of us think of a clubs proper level in the league pyramid is where they were when we started going to football as kids. As my Dad took me to Villa Park in 1966 and I used to have the Shoot league ladders then you've always have been league to me along with the likes of Workington, Bradford PA, Southport, Darlington etc.
We were within one division of you in seasons 70/71 and 71/72. At that point we went on a 10 year adventure culminating in the European Cup, you of course got chucked out the league by an outdated and corrupt re-election system.
Enjoy the game and have a great night everybody !

Unsure why a barrow win won’t be a great night for the club but we will take itAndyLochhead wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 8:16 pm I'm sure it's going to be a great night for your club on Tuesday (apart from the final result of course !).

We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Tuesday evening’s Carabao Cup Second Round tie against Aston Villa at The Dunes Hotel Stadium (7.45pm kick-off).
Mark Cooper has no new injury worries as he finalises his preparations for Tuesday night’s televised meeting with Premier League Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.
The Bluebirds looks set to remain without former Villa youngster Dimitri Sea, while Matty Platt is likely to miss out as he recovers from a back problem.
Mike Jones is building his fitness after undergoing Achilles surgery, Jamie Devitt is still receiving treatment for a thigh injury and Tom Beadling is out longer term with a partial tear in his cruciate ligament.
Villa boss Dean Smith is tipped to make a number of changes to his starting eleven for their first ever competitive visit to Barrow on Tuesday evening.
The game is likely to come too soon for front man Ollie Banks who sat out Saturday’s win over Newcastle United with a bruised knee, while summer signing Leon Bailey is battling a hamstring issue.
Bertrand Traore, Morgan Sanson, Trezeguet and Keinan Davis have all spent time in the Villa treatment room during recent weeks so seem unlikely to feature against The Bluebirds.

That "Master" at this time, was the Head of the Boys School, Fred Robinson. I believe at one time, he was a biology teacher although that was before my time. The other teacher was called Mossop.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 8:09 pmIs that the biology master, Robinson, sitting in the front row? It's easy to tell it's him!

I guess Sam Price had left by then and Robinson was in the picture as he had been promoted.watcher wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:20 amThat "Master" at this time, was the Head of the Boys School, Fred Robinson.
