Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Must admit manager sounded cross cos of way team played but also said they now have a shiny new gym to train in but still no grass pitch to train on .Last read they were at Witt on Albion.Earlier the thread copy of chairman’s notes says we now at mottram hall have long term hire of grass pitches which is obviously different so am a bit confused. If we not why the delay? Fighting one hand behind back if not adequate training facilities. Also manager said only14 fit players. Can we expect any strengthening of club squad with some of villa profits.Must say don’t want to lose this manager he will be good for us but he ambitious and won’t wait on promises forever.
Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Very concerned about what is going on behind the scenes at present.
The club seemed to have turned the corner in the Summer after last season’s rollercoaster. Experienced man in Cooper coming in and some good new signings together with great communication coming out of the club.
Now the communication is at best poor and somewhat contradictory. We also have the training ground shambles and a constant flow of important staff leaving. I’d be amazed if Cooper hasn’t walked or been poached by Xmas.

Yes it is a bit of a worry. With Anya going and Rohan coming off trust duties and now the young man with the catering experience at Blackpool seeimingly history it does feel unsettling.Perhaps the job was bigger than he realised and couldn’t cope so walked before being pushed.Bad timing on eve of big match but credit to Browns and Charnleys stepping in at short notice to save the day.Perhaps Mr Hornby will address this delay re facilities in next prog notes.Hope it sorted sooner rather than later we can I’ll afford to lose Cooper who knows his own ability as did Evatt and won’t stand still if we dilly dally.
Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
By the sounds of it, everything is in the boards hands, nothing us as fans can do..... but voice our frustrations. If tonight wasn't a wake up, we will be looking for a new manager in December simple as.
Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
When Cooper refers to having a "shiny new gym" without grass pitches, is he referring to the new setup that we're supposedly using from the start of September?
All seems a bit strange that he mentions this again, and seems to be more annoyed that he ever has been. Makes you worry that even the new setup is still not up to scratch.

Interesting to see a post on the FGR forum when Cooper was sacked that Cooper was always complaining and never engaged well with the fans.Matty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 8:34 am When Cooper refers to having a "shiny new gym" without grass pitches, is he referring to the new setup that we're supposedly using from the start of September?

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Paul Hornby is quoted as saying that the club had secured a long lease on the grass pitches at Mottram Hall. Listening to Coopers frustration last night has this fallen through? Anya leaving the hospitality manager walking the infrastructure at the club is falling apart. Time for AJ to invite Paul Hornby on Radio Cumbria again and tell the fans exactly what is going on. Worrying times.Matty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 8:34 am When Cooper refers to having a "shiny new gym" without grass pitches, is he referring to the new setup that we're supposedly using from the start of September?

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
The scale and nature of the defeat was demoralising, only to be trumped by this training facilities issue rearing its ugly head again. Naive I must be, as I thought this had all been sorted. Please BOD, you have done so much brilliant work for our club but you need to clear the air NOW regarding this issue. What is going on???

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
I understand concerns and it would help if the club confirm when we’re back on the grass- September was mentioned so if true that’s only a few days away .
People come and go and problems always arise especially in a dynamic business , that’s simply a fact of life. Address the issues and move on. A more positive result last night and this issue would probably not get mentioned.
We cannot and do not ignore issues so let’s celebrate an historic cup tie at HS against top 6 PL opposition (a first) in front of HS biggest crowd since 1990 FAT semifinal and £200k in the pot, because in the grand scheme of things the club is moving forward in a way that could not have been foreseen by many in Oct 2018, when the previous owners left on no notice. Now that was a real worry but look where we are now !

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Am I missing something here or surely we could have trained on the grass in Barrow on a temporary basis until something concrete was sorted in the Manchester area.
You have to make the best of the situation no matter what and to have not trained on grass is quite unbelievable.

You dont want to be training on concrete. That's asking for trouble! Bloody nora!April1972 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:05 pm Am I missing something here or surely we could have trained on the grass in Barrow on a temporary basis until something concrete was sorted in the Manchester area.

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Didn’t see coopers post match interview but a good evening for barrow with the tv there, full house and money made by the club, soured by a bad result but made to look very amateur if our manager is complaining about our lack of facilities on live tv - board need to sort this out ASAP
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Paul Hornby’s explained what’s happening. We move into Mottram Hall in September. Until then…who knows whether other facilities want a long term deal rather than a few weeks.
It’s a bit rubbish but the resolution is in sight.
