Didn't know Barrow rugby were ko today and with Cartmel races and other attractions our attendance wasn't too bad.

RL at home, Cartmel Races, Fudstock, Soap box challenge & us at home all competing for crowds, So a decent crowd all things considered

Yes, WG, apparently the ambitious Lincolnshire outfit want Ellis to partner Hugh Cornwell in the centre of their defence.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 7:39 pm Did he also say Ellis was going to Boston? Radio fades in and out where I live.

I thought we’d have 2000 home fans today tbh, was a bit disappointed with the crowd. Bloody daft having us and the rugby both playing at home at the same time though

If you’d tuned into Joey Barton’s pre match video you’d have heard him say that his players needed to get more physical with the opposition. So the behaviour of their team came as no surprise. Perhaps officials should do more pre match research.
The timing of our equaliser was critical. Thought Cooper did well to reshuffle his squad at HT. I think he also got between the ears of the team. Second half performance was spot on.
No doubt in Bristol Mr Barton will be telling the faithful how dominant and unlucky they were and how his players need to learn to avoid mistakes. I feel sorry for them actually. The man is quite eloquent but IMO is a con artist. No club anywhere will thrive under his control.

Even if it was a red that fef was a [SwearFilter], the ammount of 50/50 challenges he gave them and not us was unbelievable,
Barton and his coaches especially that Warner seemed a horrible bunch of thugs and they rub off on the team.
We were there for taking at 0-1 but they still milked every challenge and slightest touch, and we deserved more than a point just for the effort and character we showed, a decent manager would have had them go for the kill but that dosser Barton didn't fancy it.
Good support from their fans pity they have to suffer watching a team of bartons.
Should have won.

A great battling performance by Barrow today, well done to all the players. Credit to Mark Cooper for the second half set up which frustrated Bristol. Thought Bristol were a side very much made in their managers own image.
Would like us to resist the physicality of other sides but without the red or yellow cards. Not easy I know but we really have to fight our corner without getting dragged into petty battles.

Got to have been the worst set of officials we’ve had for…?
Red card…can’t argue with that, you simply cannot do that and expect to get away with it.
Kay before the forced substitution, very very poor. His passing was abysmal and he really needs to up his game before Cooper loses faith with him.
In the end it was a fantastic battling performance and they all deserve praise for that, Zanzalla was out on his feet from 60-65 minutes in but tried to carry on, he pretty much had to. Farmans injury from Tuesday also looks like it hasn’t been shaken off. Worrying times on who we have fit and available.
Banks once again one of the stand out players, good last season but really good this season.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Better side second half not a lot in it first half. Once again the officials were a joke although Mark Ellis would have understood why he got himself a red. There was so much going on, on field during the game but the officials left theIr Peripheral vision glasses at home. Banks was once again head and shoulders above anyone else on the field today, I was wondering last season if he was really up to the task but proving his worth week in week out this season.
