Good point, Farman was in two minds on go for it or hold back, shame he played really well as did the rest of the team. Looking forward to Friday now.

Hutton attacking is a good player but his tracking back and defending needs working on. Not the first time this season he has cost us a goal. Overall a well earned point.
Re: Bradford v Barrow match thread
Given the injuries we have this is a good point on the road. Totally depleted squad.

For attention of Radio Carlisle: It's 5.30pm. Any chance of hearing a bit about the Barrow game?
Have you ever thought what a wonderful world it would be without enthusiastic people.

Good performance. Excellent at first but don't know why we stepped back so much after scoring - totally dominant for 20 mins and then let Bradford come at us. Second half was very level and it only looked like either team would score due to errors - which we made for their goal. Three good Barrow chances (Zanzala x 2 and Gordon X 1) which didn't even hit the target. But not bad.
Crowd a shade over 15000 - when was the last time we played in front of that many in the League?????

Just a thought. If we overtake Carlisle and become the Premier team in Cumbria,do you think they will devote most of the broadcast to Barrow and the remainder to Carlisle?

Manager quite bullish in his post-match on RC. He thought it was an entertaining game, 2 teams going for it; he would have paid to watch that. Grayson was sick so Banks stepped up and offered to play at the back. Only 9 players able to get any training yesterday but he is relishing the time when we get the rest of the squad available. Ellis and Jones back for next week and Brown a possibility. The rest of the sick list? Nowhere near.
Don't let the old man in.

Re: Bradford v Barrow match thread
This match report from my mate, a Bradford season ticket holder of many years standing:
If I was a Barrow supporter I'd be a bit disappointed. We were second best all round. You were better organised in defence, passed the ball better and looked more lively up front.
Your centre half ( Banks?) was excellent.
If you had been more adventurous you would have won. I couldn't understand why you decided to give a masterclass on time wasting from the kick off.
With a bit more self belief you look to have a good team. As for us - long way to go.

I was just wondering that myself. I don't have the figures to back this up, but if my memory isn't playing tricks there was a very big crowd for Orient away, our penultimate game in 1969-70. The home side had just clinched promotion to division 2, whilst we were headed in the opposite direction. No doubt someone will have the figures.

Not much chance. If they lose, we get at least a half hour inquest and if they win it's a half hour love-in.Methuselah wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 6:11 pm Just a thought. If we overtake Carlisle and become the Premier team in Cumbria,do you think they will devote most of the broadcast to Barrow and the remainder to Carlisle?

Re: Bradford v Barrow match thread
Good point, under pressure at times. But we also put them under a bit
Good day and some great pubs in bradders pre and Post match and many saying we were better team afterwards.
Few youngster bradford fans calling it our cup final, i pointed out maybe we are both now at out natural level.
Also spoke with a few old bradford fans who remember this fixture from many years ago were a pleasure to talk to.

Re: Bradford v Barrow match thread
There was a question on the post-match about why they couldn't split to put Barrow on one frequency and Carlisle on the other.Methuselah wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 6:11 pm Just a thought. If we overtake Carlisle and become the Premier team in Cumbria,do you think they will devote most of the broadcast to Barrow and the remainder to Carlisle?
The answer was that it isn't technically possible at the moment. It should be at the end of the year when the station gets DAB and AM is phased out.
I think that presents its own problems, as quite a lot of people won't have radios with DAB. If they decide to put Barrow on DAB they will be snookered again.

I think the plan is both clubs will be on DAB as there will be a way to split the DAB signals due to where the different parts of the county receive their signalbluessupporter wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 8:14 pmThere was a question on the post-match about why they couldn't split to put Barrow on one frequency and Carlisle on the other.Methuselah wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 6:11 pm Just a thought. If we overtake Carlisle and become the Premier team in Cumbria,do you think they will devote most of the broadcast to Barrow and the remainder to Carlisle?
