Drinking in seats at Holker Street?

Post by bluessupporter » Fri Sep 24, 2021 5:31 pm

The government is looking at spectators being able to drink in the ground whilst watching the game. Will apply to L1 and L2.

I believe there have been cases recently at cricket matches where drinking is permitted, where stewards have had to take action against unruly spectators. I am not keen on the idea. A minority who act stupidly through drink, such as shouting abuse at players, will just cause problems for everyone else. Nobody needs to drink while watching a football match. Drink before the game and after if you must, but not during it.

Right laugh you are Jim.

Get beer served, why should football be different to any other sport.

A minority of drinkers in pubs act stupidly as well. Should we ban drinking in pubs too?

People at the football scream profanities at other people for 90 minutes, should we allow that in pubs too?

You are blinkered if you can’t see this is an idea that would cause more trouble. Never mind the thought of standing on a terrace on a Tuesday night in January drinking a flat carlsberg out of a plastic cup.

So in a ground like bradford last week, if drinking was allowed, how many times would you think people would walk down to the concourse queue to get a pint, walk back to find there seat again in 90mins during a good game.

I reckon ide take one to my seat on kick off, have one a half time, take one back out for second half.

Ide drink more in a pub.

They allow drinking on craven park , have sevral small bars around the ground and recycle the plastic glasses to get cash for the club, so if they can do this can we not do something on the same line at Holker Street if they do allow drinking?

Ffs
Ive stood with mcmark and bgb in many german games and at the highest level having a beer doesn't cause issues.
Yet i have stood and (admittedly myself) with people with hip flasks and bottles watching Barrow.
Simple.
Have a section you can drink and watch the game.
Anyone who says "why cant you have a pint before and after? Why not have a pie at home etc etc" do you not think that maybe, just maybe this may be the one day certain folk get a chance to have a beer and watch football? No. Because you are so far up your own arse you believe football is for you and not anyone else. Let people have fun for gods sake. And before anyone says "alcohol doesnt equal fun" have a think about how many pints the non Barrow supporters have on "super Sunday " up the Vic supping from 12 til 8.

Im not sure who you are or why you think you have a right to question me or how i "keep saying that" as i rarely post on here now. This is the problem "old man" people like you dont allow folk to have an opinion. And if they actually voice one, well......eyes up from the Daily Mail and back to the forum ey?
Anyhoo im off to push kids over on a trampoline.....enjoy life up there on your pedestal xxx

Might entice a few more, how many times have you heard floaters say they don't bother as you can't drink on the terraces?
Popular side since '03.
