Players songs

Post by bamber678 » Sat Oct 09, 2021 10:56 pm

Definitely think the creative minds of barrow need to think of some songs for our players. The “there’s only one…” is boring and unoriginal. We are better than that and the players deserve some proper support. I do like the zanzala one but I heard a small group singing another one in the concourse at Bradford that I personally thought was better.

Got one for Robbie Gotts,

Robbie gotts is magic,
He wears a magic hat,
And when he saw holker street he said I fancy that,
He didn’t sign for Salford,
Or Lincoln cause they’re shite,
He signed for Barra soccer,
‘Because were [SwearFilter] dynamite.

I’ll take criticism but it’s better than nothing I guess 😂

That's better than that rapper Diontay Wilder had with him on his ring walk this morning.

For the oldies, "Good golly- miss Olly" might have been appropriate yesterday.

Mark Ellis........whoa,whoa,whoa
Mark Ellis.........whoa,whoa,whoa
He'll f*****g head the ball
Though he's not very tall

The “throw a brick at him he’ll head it back” etc song that was popular at various clubs a few seasons ago is completely apt for Ellis. That man loves a header

He's here, he's there
He's every F****** where
Josh Gordon
Josh Gordon

We are the pride of all Cumbria
The King's of the north
We beat (or any other word that rhymes) all the Wukkies
And Carlisle of course
We'll beat them at home and we'll beat them away
Cause we are the Barrovian boys

You can see I had a misspent youth

Just start one. The feedback is fairly instant. Or silent, which tells it's own story.

One of my epic fails was trying to get a version of Bad Moon Rising going which no-one liked. Another was getting mixed up during 'Give us a B!' which is fairly embarrassing.

However, before someone else reminds me,

"His name's on the team-sheet first..Danny, Danny Hurst!"

"Steve it's not him"

I’m proud to say it was me who told you it wasn’t him 🤣

Oh I do miss being on the terraces sometimes

Honestly as Steve says for singing just start - if the song is easy enough to sing then people will join in
"Steve it's not him"

We've all been there mate!!!
Spontaneous songs are always the best. Often 15 cans into a trip to somewhere woeful like Hucknall!!
