BARROW V S*unthorpe match thread
Re: BARROW V S*unthorpe match thread
Ive never seen possession and pass completion stats like tonight. Ever. Counts for nothing though if they can’t do anything with it.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Opportunity missed sadly. Pleasantly surprised by that attendance however especially with it being a miserable day.
Popular side since '03.

Stats are unbelievable..... scoreline isn't, definitely missing something and the sooner we get bodies back the better.

What was the attendance? Stand looked half empty.

Fortunately, we didn't lose much ground as other results favour us and we move to 11th.
Don't let the old man in.

A mere 20% possession, a missed Penalty, 1st point in 5 games = happy bus back to Lincolnshire.
Re: BARROW V S*unthorpe match thread
I cant understand how Hutton beat his man, got behind and crossed about 7 or 8 times in the last 15 mins, when he didn't do that in the first 75. I think we actually discovered how to play in those last 15.
Kay made a big difference, and Sea when he came on. Defence looks dodgy. I agree with Russ's comment last week that Ellis is good heading the ball in his penalty area but suspect when the ball is on the deck. Not all that sure about J Jones either. Definitely need to go to a back 4, but who should they be?

well we didn't get beat! much better with a flat back four!,Zanzala and Gordon just can't play together Sea looked good when he came on but we lack physicality up front get knocked off the ball far too easily! and we overplay it when we get near the penalty area !

Zanzala [SwearFilter] useless
Re: BARROW V S*unthorpe match thread
Poor game. Poor officials. What a flop Zanzala has turned out to be. Gotts MOTM by a country mile, well above league 2 level. Should get a few quid for him at the end of the season.

Re: BARROW V S*unthorpe match thread
First half we passed the ball far too slowly, having loads of possession is great but you need to pass it quicker, drag players out of position and then play balls in behind….we didn’t do that. Still not sure who the “get it into the blooming box Barrow” shouters on the popular side exactly wanted it to go into the box to though tbh, Zanzala has been pretty poor all round since that first month or so when he was half fit and tonight even Gordon wasn’t his usual all energy self for the 90 minutes like he usually is.
Second half was better once we went to a back 4 and Kay was a lot more direct when he got the ball, we actually started to beat the man out wide on our right hand side. Brough had plenty of the ball but kept hitting the back of the first defender with his crosses, again he isn’t making the runs in behind he did last season when the Cumbrian Carlos nickname was born.
Pretty poor all round but at least we didn’t lose, and could even have snatched the 3 points when Gordon hit the bar.
Never go in for all these inflated crowd theories but that one tonight genuinely baffled me, there was loads of room on the popular side, to hear it was over 2700 was a pleasant surprise to say the least

They were up for it limited our space especially first half saying that for all the possession we created nothing first half. We’re very flat for the first fifteen mins of the second half but ended up hitting the woodwork twice. A bad day at the office move on quickly at least we showed some character once Zanzala rested his weary bones.
