I was in the Walsall end right by the touchline where the ball was definitely out of play for their 2nd goal. Apart from that I thought we were excellent today having survived their initial onslaught we controlled the game. A great battling performance particularly when we were behind. We stuck to the game plan trying to get behind them rather than pumping high balls into the box which would have been a waste against such a big set. Both our goals were well worked and delighted for Josh who chased everything down all afternoon and deserved his reward. I am really pleased with the progress we have made this season and enjoyed our style of play coupled with the commitment shown by the whole team. Keep the faith. Well done boys.

Think that’s disrespectful of the other players in this team, Farman was MOTM today and kept us competing, Gotts and Stevens have been massive factors in the games they have played since signing. As good as banks is it’s not just down to him.

Every game I've seen this season the majority of anything positive we've created stems from him.

He’s a massive factor but definitely wouldn’t say what we would be relegated without him. He’s definitely our best player at the moment but there is no “i” in team

One of those last minute moments you don't forget in a hurry, but now the dust has settled I'm disappointed we didn't win.

Walsall could've been out of sight first 25 minutes and would've been were it not for Farman. However, after that we were comfortably the better side and pretty much controlled the second half.

What is more apparent with each game is that we are still in desperate need of a real presence up front. For all his running (and his goal today) Josh Gordon doesn't offer enough threat on his own and as for Zanzala, I don't know what going on there. We spend large periods of games passing sideways and backwards inside the opposition half but often seem to run out of ideas once we get in the final third, and that is largely because there just isn't an outlet and there's a serious lack of options for whoever is on the ball.

That said, we scored two goals away from home and you'd like to think that would be enough to win most games. Both Walsall goals were poor from us, but particularly the second whether it was out in the build up or not.

Absolutely no idea what game some of these Walsall fans watched. We completely dominated most of the game as our 63% posession shows. I read before the game that Walsall fans were some of the friendliest around, but they were a bunch of bitter arseholes. Special mention to the 50 odd year old bloke who called me and my 5 year old son "[SwearFilter] Barrow cunts" as we were getting in the car. I'm glad we upset him so much that he felt the need!

Interesting reading the Walsall/Sadlers forum. As you would expect, it feels like a loss for them, especially with former player Josh Gordon scoring. One particularly good comment: “Barrow actually surprised me today they are a very tidy side who play great football, a very tidy side who I expect to see in the mix for the play offs come the end of the season”. Many posters say the ball was out just before their second goal, as noted by posters on here. I was listening on iFollow today - Adam’s commentary was brilliant and passionate, as usual, but I also had that moment of doubt when he said Josh Gordon wasn’t celebrating….! Sounds like Paul Farman kept us in it.
Coming up to Barrow next week for my first home league match after a few away matches - 3 points please.

After 30 mins I'd have bitten my hand off for a draw. Decided to change my seat in the stand and we began to play football!!! (I was actually freezing so I took a seat nearer to where I could get a hot drink at half time!! Yes sad).

Being nearer to pitch side than where I was at the Port Vale game got me to see more clearly the work rate the boys put in. Hutton and Gordon never stopped and the skill levels of our midfielders are excellent (one Ollie Banks away from the conference......really). We know our weaknesses and they were there to see today but in the first half I obviously had a good view of the work Farman put in if you weren't there today you have no idea of how good he was. Take it from me he was class.

Teams like Walsall are in L2 for a reason. They cannot keep playing at the level they did for the first 30 mins for the whole game or at least 75 minutes of it. We are a team still finding our way in this league never ever will I say it's a small jump from the conference to L2. But as some have rightly said if we'd had the continuity Harrogate have enjoyed perhaps we might be higher up the table.

What is now critical is to get another win under our belts asap. Even without a fully all firing forward line we are scoring goals but the ones we concede are often shambolic.

Anyway it was a most enjoyable drive back up the motorway. Funnily enough a couple of my old Walsall mates have not got in touch with me this evening... Can't think why.
