Bristol is nearer Barrow than Ipswich; at least an hour less travel time if not more

Slightly off course though you can get from BiF to London (with a Railcard) for £79.05 on Avanti and probably less via TicketySplit. Get into the smoke for 11am and then nip to Liverpool Street on the tube, a single to/from Ipswich is currently £6.60 or £10.55 First Class on Greater Anglia. It is only an hour or so journey to Ippo and the same back. Last train out of Euston is at 19.30 thus back in Barrow at 11.30pm.

Railcards are so worth it if you are eligible, I suspect that Sea Dog Sam is!

I toyed with the idea of going on the Trust Bus but it'll take longer than the train. Also; I like to see some of the towns/cities we visit. The bus tends to stop off on the outskirts of places these days rather than the actual location. My first experience of this was when we visited Fylde a few seasons ago - having to sup our ales in a seedy Working Mens Club near Blackpool. It made the British Legion on HSt look relatively posh We didn't even make it to the WMC near Bradford - the driver got lost!

In the non league there were less rules. Fylde we stopped at the seedy ckub as it could acconodate an amount of people, rather than the Sports Bar at Fylde's out of town stadium. I was running the Bradford bus and although he did, the pubs most of us stopped in was pretty good- also near a chippy. In terms of why, we are meant to stop a certain distance away in the league- what we either do is a) Get reasonably near so a group could taxi it to where they want to be or b) The bus continues on to the ground and the expectation is that those in the pub make their own way. We have to produce a matchday plan.

I also notice it's a 5am start on the bus to Ipswich
I've traveled on the bus to Nailsworth - for FGR and Taunton and Bristol for our FA Cup games and even those lengthy journeys didn't require a 5am start. Well, not that I can remember.
Nailsworth is a lot nearer in terms of travelling time. Taunton we got about the clearest run I have ever seen. The further you go, the more extra time you have to leave. For example, one year to Torquay we were flying till Bristol and ended up at Plainmoor at 5 to 3! Then you've got to factor in driver stops (2 for Ipswich) Finally, if you've travelled the thick end of 7 hours you need some time off the bus!

Every trip now has to be accompanied with a written plan to police of where we go- parking is also a factor. That way, we don't get any hassle from them and can get on with enjoying the day. Ipswich, we might try for town but will arrange a destination. We expect to take quite a few, given the train costs. Hope this helps

The Blues progressed to face the Cumbrian outfit following a 2-1 first round replay victory at Oldham on Tuesday night.

Town's Papa John's Trophy round of 32 tie against Arsenal U21, which is also at home, has been scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, 1 December - kick-off 7.45pm.

Not happy that Ipswich have reduced prices down to £10 for an adult this is club whose average attendance is over 19,000 this should be a pay day for clubs like Barrow imagine if they go through and draw a premier league club away and the premier league team reduced prices by half then they wouldn’t be happy about it,I don’t know if Barrow get any say in the setting of prices as they get half the gate money but I for one won’t be congratulating Ipswich on reducing their prices so much

Barrow fans are already forking out a lot to get down to Suffolk for this one. Getting a reduction on what they would pay for the ticket is something to be appreciated.

There average league gate is closer to 20k

I really don’t see where the issue is that they’ve lowered the prices for this game - baffled someone would complain about it
