Not complaining but do Barrow have to charge the same prices in the event of a replay?
I thought that had been the case previously.

Agree, those with a conscience could make a donation to the Trust; https://bluebirdstrust.co.uk/join-the-trust/ which in turn goes into the club coffers. Hope it’s a memorable day for all the right reasons.barrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 12:43 pm Swings and roundabouts. We picked up telly money for Banbury.
Given we struggled to keep the bus to £40 members a tenner inis most welcome

How dare you!![]()
I toyed with the idea of going on the Trust Bus but it'll take longer than the train. Also; I like to see some of the towns/cities we visit. The bus tends to stop off on the outskirts of places these days rather than the actual location. My first experience of this was when we visited Fylde a few seasons ago - having to sup our ales in a seedy Working Mens Club near Blackpool. It made the British Legion on HSt look relatively poshWe didn't even make it to the WMC near Bradford - the driver got lost!
In the non league there were less rules. Fylde we stopped at the seedy ckub as it could acconodate an amount of people, rather than the Sports Bar at Fylde's out of town stadium. I was running the Bradford bus and although he did, the pubs most of us stopped in was pretty good- also near a chippy. In terms of why, we are meant to stop a certain distance away in the league- what we either do is a) Get reasonably near so a group could taxi it to where they want to be or b) The bus continues on to the ground and the expectation is that those in the pub make their own way. We have to produce a matchday plan.
I also notice it's a 5am start on the bus to Ipswich![]()
I've traveled on the bus to Nailsworth - for FGR and Taunton and Bristol for our FA Cup games and even those lengthy journeys didn't require a 5am start. Well, not that I can remember.
Nailsworth is a lot nearer in terms of travelling time. Taunton we got about the clearest run I have ever seen. The further you go, the more extra time you have to leave. For example, one year to Torquay we were flying till Bristol and ended up at Plainmoor at 5 to 3! Then you've got to factor in driver stops (2 for Ipswich) Finally, if you've travelled the thick end of 7 hours you need some time off the bus!
Every trip now has to be accompanied with a written plan to police of where we go- parking is also a factor. That way, we don't get any hassle from them and can get on with enjoying the day. Ipswich, we might try for town but will arrange a destination. We expect to take quite a few, given the train costs. Hope this helps
However, with regard to your first paragraph:
"a) Get reasonably near so a group could taxi it to where they want to be or
b) The bus continues on to the ground and the expectation is that those in the pub make their own way. We have to produce a matchday plan.[/b]"
a) "Get reasonably near so a group could taxi it to where they want to be".
Surely that adds more expense to the traveling costs - certainly if it isn't a group of people?
We don't pay The Trust to be driven to the outskirts of a town/city. We pay to be driven to the stadium. Why should we have to fork out more cash for a taxi?
b) "The bus continues on to the ground and the expectation is that those in the pub make their own way. We have to produce a matchday plan]"
I can only speak for myself but apart from the visit to Taunton - when we were dropped off in the town itself - I have never known the bus to ferry those who wish to go direct to the ground. The bus waits outside the chosen stop off point and then ferries EVERYONE to the ground.
The point I'm making is that there are many who wish to travel direct to the ground - depart and then visit the pubs or take a walk around the town/city we are visiting. The Trust Bus now tends to stop at places on the perimeters of the town or city we are visiting. I certainly don't want to be stuck in a WMC or something similar when I'd rather see something of the town/city we're traveling to. In the light of this surely those traveling should be given a choice when booking?
These stop off points off have led to many now choosing to travel by rail. The cash spent on rail fares would be better off entering the coffers of The Trust.

But didn't we get a transfer fee for Quigs?Broughton Fan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 12:55 pm Just to clarify I wasn’t complaining about the fact that Ipswich had discounted prices but the quantity of the discount .It costs £27 for an adult to see Ipswich in a league one game so I would have thought a £10 discount would have been okay and both teams could have made money,if fans are normally paying £27 then they going to pay £17 for the last round before the big boys come in so by giving the extra discount I don’t think you going to entice that many more, given that there are juniors and concessions you are going to average about £8 per person which divided by two is £4 hardly a pay day .There’s many on here who are wanting a new striker remember they don’t come cheap and the more we can generate from our cup run the better
Yes we did. The owners have pumped in 600k this year as well, 2.75 mill since 2018 take over, which is in the programme notes from the chairman for tomorrow’s game, hoping to new additions in January.
A) a rattle isn't a musical instrument
Yes but we have to spend to get a striker if we went down we would never recover financially with the Quigs money plus some fa cup revenue ,( which were not in our pre season budgets) we CANNOT afford to play Russian roulette with the so called striker's that we have now !
A) It makes as much noise - and is even more annoying.Holkerbird wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 4:10 pmA) a rattle isn't a musical instrument
B) the rattle has never been refused entry at any ground. Steward at Cambridge tried it once but a word to the Chief of Security sorted her out.
