Ben Garner must regret his comments as they did his team no favours. Perhaps he foresaw that we might adapt to the conditions better. That would transmit itself to his players.. but who cares? Hopefully season restarted.

Good performance from just about everyone with one exception an even he showed a better a attitude by working a bit harder. MOM could have gone to White, Grayson, Gott, Banks. Happy fan tonight

Gotts much better in that attacking role, and although it was brief, Hutton's cameo showed he could do a job in the front three too. Brough's last ditch sliding tackle was almost as enjoyable as a goal.

Just before 6 o'clock on RC I heard Adam's co-commentator say "Goodwins keep coming". I think he was on about a baptism for another grandchild. I hope he's right but I'm thinking more in terms of further well-earned victories on the pitch rather than additions to his family. That today was a great win rather than a good win, a complete 90 minutes of quality and application. I hope the excellent Tom White is okay – a favourite of mine, but limping very noticeably in the later stages and when walking off at the end.

All about winning the midfield battle and we did that today. Banks and White do so much but Robbie Gotts was fantastic today. Best display for a long time and worthy winners.

Great win today reiterated by the salty comments from STFC fans on Twitter. It absolutely baffles me why these bigger clubs think they have a divine right to win a football match and make up every excuse possible, tin pot, non-league standard, sh@tired etc without realising that their team was out-played/battled for the 3 points. They’re in EFL2 now and so are we, and we’re fighting to stay in it!

A gutsy performance from Barrow who at least matched Swindon in the first half and then improved as the second half wore on, going for every ball to ensure a well-deserved and long-awaited victory. There were few chances from open play for either side, but Banks and Gordon’s well-taken penalties proved the difference- and we could have had more spot kicks before those.

Farman had to punch away a Payne free kick 10 minutes in after Hayden was brought down. Three minutes later at the other end Gotts was tripped in the area but penalty appeals were waved away.

Twenty minutes in a Barrow corner was won by Brough. Played short, the ball was launched into the area and Ellis was grounded to more Barrow appeals.

Two more Barrow corners failed to make any headway and in the 33rd minute a dangerous Stevens cross across the area failed to find the vital touch.

Swindon then tried a break, a good run by Payne giving Simpson a shot from the left into the side-netting. A minute later, Gladwin’s 25-yard shot went just wide of the right post. Brown was then booked for a foul on Iandolo on the half-way line.

However, seconds later Barrow re-asserted authority and a great run and shot by Stevens required a good block.

Swindon rallied again. On the stroke of the 45 minutes, Farman parried an East shot for a corner. In the fifth minute of added time Iandolo’s cross was cleared for a Payne corner.

Goalless at half time, we took the initiative in the second half. After the break, Platt came on for Ellis. An excellent build-up 8 minutes in gave Grayson a run and shot on goal. Five minutes later, another good run and cross by Gotts led to a handball by Hayden and penalty. Banks blasted the 62nd minute spot kick into the roof of the net for 1-0. Regrettably, a blue smoke bomb was then thrown onto the pitch from the Holker Street end which Farman found hot to handle!

Gordon then came on for Zanzala; Swindon also replaced East with Williams.

Barrow nearly made it 2-0 in the 71st minute when a Gotts shot from a Gordon cross was blocked at close range, deflected onto the post. Hutton then came on for Stevens.

In an increasingly feisty game, McKirdy was booked for Swindon, and then Banks saw yellow for a foul on Payne near the corner flag. The 78th minute free kick was initially blocked and then Payne skied the ball over the bar.

Mitchell-Lawson then replaced the carded McKirdy but Barrow continued to thwart Swindon, earning two yellows for timewasting (Farman and James Jones).

Swindon corners were well defended and a Barrow break resulted from one in the 86th minute, Gordon’s run feeding Hutton for a shot on goal. A minute later, Gladwin received a yellow for felling Brough in the area but, more importantly for Barrow, Gordon made no mistake with the penalty for 2-0.

We nearly made it three in the 90th minute when a Banks shot grazed the bar from a Hutton assist.

In added time a Hutton cross was saved by Wollacott and Gotts was awarded Barrow’s man of the match.

Due to a committed team performance, we finished well on top. To add to Swindon’s woes, their players surrounded the officials after the final whistle and Conroy was red-carded in the process.

Attendance was 2,863 including an impressive 577 visiting fans.

Yes, Moribund, agree totally. It was exquisite and it showed that when the timing is perfect you don' t necessarily have to go in crunchingly hard. When I saw that today, and the perfect timing employed, my mind immediately went all the way back to the England v Brazil match in the 1970 World Cup when Bobby Moore glided in to rob Jairzinho as clean as a whistle and there seemed little "physicality" involved, it was more like being tackled by a ghost. Such was the grace and elegance of Bobby Moore, and for one moment today Patrick Brough emulated him. Not a bad compliment!

Fantastic Fantastic performance from all of em, they couldn't handle our midfield's skill and tenacity. Defence never gave their forward line a sniff all game.
Had two pens and should have had three for certain,maybe even four. Created a fair few chances but our Achilles heal again we could not convert them. IF we can get the striker we need in Jan we will be absolutely fine.
Well done to every single on of them today.
