Losing to a team the mighty Swindon Town have a divine right to be beating

Swindon did have a decent team last time we were in the league with players like Don Rodgers the poor man's George best.
They beat Arsenal 3-1 in the League Cup final that meant they would qualify for the Fairs Cup Final but they had to be in League 1 they were in the 3 rd Division so never qualified.

These supporters are living in the past ,since been a debt ridden club featuring onTVs Can't pay take it away debt collection documentary.

The ref gave us 2 pens I've definitely seen not given over the years. You're obviously new to the game Even Tosspots Seek Job Satisfaction and it's showing. Try watching more and commenting less.

There was no doubting the two pens given on the Quest highlights. Even the experts gave them.

Swindon's goalkeeper's shirt is far to similar in colour to the team shirts

Spotted that myself halfway through the first half, the referee is supposed to check this before kick off, surprised he came out in the second half with the same jersey on, goalkeepers are supposed to wear different Colour Shirt, shorts and socks than the outfield Players.

Do they check these things out anymore? Once over that would not have been allowed. He looked the same as the others in the melee of goal mouth incidents.
The other week at a home game both keepers were in that fluorescent green Farman had on today.

Smoke bombs have been regularly set off at away games all season and it p*sses me off. From where I was stood at the Holker end it was thrown from the Barrow section. Hope we can find and ban the culprit

Re your post earlier in this thread concerning that famous "Fred-They-Shall-Not-Pass-Else" article when we won 1-0 away at Swindon very early in our 3rd Division days . . .

It must have been round about 2008 that there was an interview with Fred featured in the EM. He said that one of his sons, Gary (who played a handful of games for our first team in the late 70's and who is sadly also no longer with us) lived in the Swindon area at one time and one day the postman delivered a parcel and, upon spotting the fairly rare surname, quizzed Gary as to whether he was any relation to Fred Else. When Gary said he was his Dad the postie apparently brought up that performance by Fred from many, many years earlier and must have clearly remembered it with some sense of awe! Fred also said in the article that it was probably his best-ever performance in a Barrow shirt. Swindon had a revered set of forwards at that time, especially for 3rd Division standing. Apart from the obvious one of Don Rogers, names such as Smart, Heath and Noble spring from the memory banks very readily. But none of them could find a way past Fred Else that night.

I thought at the time the penalties looked a bit ropey but after watching the highlights they were definitely correct decisions. So why the Swindon players started on the referee, not to mentioning manhandling the assistant referee, after full time is beyond me. Hope they had a long, long journey home

That lad was dragged out by police about 30 seconds later. Bring your yellow jacket to the next game chief steward
