If they haven’t scored you can’t! But 17 goals before Christmas speaks for itself, YouTube or no YouTube. It was Twitter BTW.mickycarrol wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 8:17 amThe famous YouTube clips…….you could make anyone who has played park football look good on a short 20 second video clip.Etsjb wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 10:32 pm The boy Marcus Carver is exactly what we need, have a look at his showreel…17 goals before Xmas is pretty special, I hate the phrase fox in the box but he is exactly that and what we need!
Tell me I’m wrong.

Targets For January

Re: Targets For January
We can still have a target man, if that is what you want to call it, imagine if we have someone with presence and height in and around the box today with crosses that Hutton put in. Might not score every time but would create havoc for the others to connect to the knockdowns/seconds.
We need a goal scorer, pure and simple…dress it up as you please.

If carver can score half of Zanzala chances we would be top six and cruising, zanzala must be the most ineffective player we have had for a long time.

Re: Targets For January
I think this hits the nail on the head pretty well It’s not that we can’t score, we simply dont convert chances. Most of our goals are either penalties or creative strikes. There is no guy in the middle who can anticipate and put the ball in the from a few yards with feet or head.Etsjb wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 7:35 pm We can still have a target man, if that is what you want to call it, imagine if we have someone with presence and height in and around the box today with crosses that Hutton put in. If someone like Carver could play that position you know well enough that he could convert some of these chances. But also it takes pressure off the likes of Gotts, Stevens, Gordon or Banks to come up with something special. That helps them also.

Carver, or anyone that is half decent at any level around us would surely have put away more than Zanzala has for us, he is so far out of his depth it’s unreal. How he has managed to find clubs to take him on is baffling, he gets bounced off the ball, he trips over his own shadow, is never on the end of a cross and apparently he’s our highest earner…absolute madness.
Virtually any signing within reason has to be an improvement.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Was there not rumours Zanzala was going to Bradford City from Carlisle before we signed him, hence the highest wage earnerspirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 2:12 pm Carver, or anyone that is half decent at any level around us would surely have put away more than Zanzala has for us, he is so far out of his depth it’s unreal. Re: Targets For January
I agree and I can hardly believe how poor he has been. I saw him play for Carlisle on TV a couple of times and thought he looked decent although he mainly played wide right when I saw him so I thought he would be a good signing. How wrong I was! He never even gives the impression he is interested in playing.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 2:12 pm Carver, or anyone that is half decent at any level around us would surely have put away more than Zanzala has for us, he is so far out of his depth it’s unreal. Re: Targets For January
Just here for the money. I was willing to give him a chance but that has now expired. Got to be one of the worst signings, but I fear we are stuck with him on that sort of wage.
