A typical Barrow v bottom of league performance. Defence shaky, giving their wide men lots of room, midfielders giving ball away frequently, Gotts and Stevens having poor games, too much reliance on long ball to Gordon, who is getting pushed, pulled and thumped without any protection from this very poor referee.
Thankfully, we have got to half time so I hope Cooper can sort some things out. One bright spot is that Arthur has looked quite good - much more tidy in possession than several others.

Stevens and Gotts...for all of their plaudits for when they are at it, my god they go missing for so many games.
Don't get me wrong, they both started off excellently but after 3-4 games it filtered out and they became passengers. Then a few games pass of nothing much, followed by a couple of games where one, or both have decisive moments. Cue adulation and a love in of the both which is just cringe worthy. Bielsa this and that (yep, he allowed them to both leave for nothing/minimal fees).
though soon after this... a game or two later infact, they'll disappear again and fail to show up. Now I'm all for bigging up the players but the love in has gone too far.
The lads both have talent but let's be straight, they need to up it. Far too many times these messiahs are found wanting. Give me a couple more Mr Consistent Patrick Brough's over these two.
Btw - I think Gotts can play higher and is the better prospect of the two. Stevens needs to apply himself more IMO.

1st half observations:
* Oldham not looking like league’s worst.
* Ref is looking like league’s worst.
* Festus Arthur doing well, considering he’s never selected.
* Barrow still not managed to score open-play league goal in 2 months!

Is Ollie Banks available Saturday?
Re: Barrow v Oldham match thread
Take Gotts or Stevens off. Need Kay who will run at defenders. Alternatively, if we are going to keep punting ball up to Gordon, he should have someone (Zanzala?) alongside.

Two good substitutions!

The pitch is looking very heavy, lots of tired legs
Re: Barrow v Oldham match thread
I can’t believe we are playing at walking pace with 2 minutes to go.

A poor game in front of a great crowd. Good streaming service and commentary though.
