I'm glad you're not in charge christ

Why not just close all transfers. Clubs should be able to bring through good enough players to wear the shirt. Terrible management by the board and coaching staff otherwise. Sack them all!

I couldn't agree more Nige. This decision simply must be the correct one. They have had plenty of time to do their homework on whoever it is that lets say, may be coming in.

Nobody spotted in Asda yet. Rumours of a mystery 6 ft 4 inch chap with muscular physique seen lurking behind the Sports and Leisure building this morning, but club confirms that this was a plumber fixing the shower in the away dressing room.

Port Vale just signed Ryan Edmondson on loan from Leeds; wonder if he’s one we considered

Why do people tweet the club asking for "any news on signing a striker?" etc.?

Oh yeah, we were holding back on announcing it until you got in touch...

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

They should just phone the club shop and ask instead.

As a back up maybe but I hope we are actually going for someone who is a proven goalscorer or we`ve had it !

Mark Cooper has already said time and time again the type of player he wants
The striker we will be bringing in will be in the category of young and hungry and likely be from a premier league/championship academy

That’s not me speaking with inside info or anything like that, that’s me listening to what the manager says when I speak to him
