Re: Levi Gill
I think the club is doing a great job and all the moaners who know better why don't you pop along to the club and have a word and offer your services for a few hours I am sure they will be delighted to have you.
Oh wait a minute you won't do that though because your not Pro active just moaners behind a keyboard.
All bluebirds are blue

Re: Levi Gill
This is an interesting debate isn’t it!
Staffing at the club is important especially at EFL level and as someone further up the thread says the right staff generate they’re own wages, sounds like a no brainier - hire more staff, but… as we are all aware every salary comes out of the overall budget of the club a decent CEO could cost the same salary as one of our top earning players - maybe more, likewise another 2 or 3 staff members would equal that again. It’s a catch 22. Get the staff in then try and progress/stay up on a reduced budget added to that the enormous cost of improving the stadium!
Separately though it is quite concerning that the paid staff turnover seems to be on the high side - Levi has quit with not even a hint of a reason why other staff members have left after relatively short periods too and the simplest explanation is money, if say we are giving out senior positions on factory supervisor salaries it stands to reason that they’ll move on as soon as a better paid position comes available.
Levi now had CEO on his CV .
I don’t have the answers for this but I’m not privy to the details but we need to trust PH to make the right choices, either way he’s dammed if he does dammed if he doesn’t.
Who'd be a football chairmen eh!

Re: Levi Gill
I'm not going to comment on Levi's departure except to thank him and wish him all the very best.
Some of the points on here are valid and some seem to struggle to relaise the impact that 48 years out of the Football League has had.
One way of seeing ourselves is from 'mystery shopper' type reports. This EFL one is from 'Family Excellence' and they attended the Swindon game, in biblical rain. We were then graded in terms of both League 2 and the EFL as a whole. Here's the summary.
A warm and welcoming experience
This is the club's first ever EFL Family Excellence assessment and it reflects a club not only
with a warm and welcoming personality, but one that backs it up strongly in several areas.
The assessor benefitted from the helpful, comprehensive and thoughtful information
present on the website, making it easy to plan the day and also 'sell it' to any children
coming along (mention of the fan zone, the mascot and a chance to meet a player).
This is all backed up on the day with updated facilities (club shop), a brand new fan zone and
a warm and welcoming experience, which will serve the club well as it builds its fan base of
the future.
There are some improvement opportunities, but none significantly detract from a very
positive family experience at Holker Street stadium.
League 2- 9th out of 24
EFL 32nd out of 72
To be just outside the playoffs for League 2, plus in the top half of the EFL overall is a good result. Anecdotally, this report can be quite savage on new clubs so we must be doing quite a few things right.
Just for a bit of perspective.

Very useful to get an outside viewpoint.
9th out of 24 is above average and I'll settle for that at this stage.
For all the time that we have been back in the league there has been a global pandemic and the club have had to operate at times with no crowds etc. and under restrictions so I think it would be unrealistic to expect much above better than average.

Very interesting to see that type of thing from EFL. I do think however that this sort of information should be published by the club on its own website and social media as a News Item rather than getting lost on a thread about something else on an unofficial forum. These sort of 'good news' stories are important for the everyday fan to see as most will not have any real idea of how the club is performing and what is involved and to see bench marking like this may help to dispel some myths.
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here
Re: Levi Gill
Is there a league table to show what clubs are around us in comparison? 9th is fantastic but imagine how much better it would look if we were above some of the bigger teams in the leaguebarrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:43 pm I'm not going to comment on Levi's departure except to thank him and wish him all the very best.

Re: Levi Gill
Yes, you are right of course. A bit self- indulgent of me really; hoping to dispel some myths as you say. I think it rather got subsumed with Barnsley, three new signings and indeed Levi's departure. There's quite a lot of information around like that. I get sent a lot of e-mails thanking us for our hospitality from disabled fans, for example. What we lack in facilities we make up for in friendliness and effort.Stephen Leonard wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 1:19 pmStevebarrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:43 pm I'm not going to comment on Levi's departure except to thank him and wish him all the very best.

This really is an amazing ranking and should be pushed by the club on their social media channels.barrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:43 pm I'm not going to comment on Levi's departure except to thank him and wish him all the very best.

Also, it shows that regardless of the high turnover of office staff the club is still ticking the boxes it needs to to provide fans with a match day experience that is to be expected by the powers that be in the EFL.
On a side note, it is a bit unfair to criticise the club or working environment following staff leaving their posts in recent months without being cognisant of the reasoning and back grounds of such decisions. You don’t know their personal situations and who can fault anyone for having motivation and want to push themselves or go for a job with better money, it happens everywhere Maccies, Tesco, the yard and the soccer…such is life and human desires.
