Back passing and side passing will get you nowhere. Zero penetration upfront.
Was looking forward to seeing what the 2 new young forwards could do, but they got no service.
Disappointing performance and to be frank, I get more enjoyment watching the Rugby at Craven Park.
I always come home happy, as they haven't lost a home game in 2 years - wish I could say the same for the Soccer. :(
PS: I was 1 minute late in getting into the ground and the fat lady was already singing the 1st verse...
Go to craven then and watch them I watched them against Workington and to be honest seen better rugby at rating lane

Several comments here blame Farman for not intercepting the crosses. But Cooper very strongly blames Platt and Jones for not heading them. Be interested to see the highlights. Farman's fault or the centre-backs or both?

First goal Farman rooted to the spot but challenges before that were pathetic,3rd goal yes defender should have done better but surely as a forward if you know a keeper is coming at you it will make you think twice but bowery knew Farman wasn't going to challenge him so I blame both farman and think it was brough ( not sure )

I've got used to Farman not coming off his line. Good shot stopper, but his reluctance to come off his line means his career will stay in the lower leagues.

Steven's seems to be well out of favour at the moment. Centre halfs given a right mauling by cooper. I like Ellis, ok not the fastest, but you always get a 100% shift out of him. You dont often get a big mobile side in L2, its usually one or the other, but Mansfield were both and we had no answer. You play to your strengths, pack of big guys in the box so put the bombs in for them to latch on to, not rocket science but it works.

Just heard the Cooper post match. I think we got away with some awful defensive lapses against Colchester and this time punished. Set pieces and giving opp too much time and space in our half remain our achilles.

You are right. Colchester had better chances than us and we had two rather fortunate goals.

No you haven’t and neither would you see better football at Holker as the players are inferior.

I’ve seen my subbutteo team defend better than we did for the three goals we conceded.

I’ve certainly seen mine move and turn quicker than our defence and midfield.

Doesn't matter what league or division you are in, you expect the teams to be more less like the others at that level, apart from the top and bottom ones. I have been to Holker once or twice and seen much better football in that the players actually take the ball forward quite quickly, rather than sideways Barrow. Holker have some fluffs in front of goal but scored three today.

Of course even our poorest players should be far better than their Holker equivalents, but as well as you have to take into account that some Barrow players are on damned good money - one reportedly £1800 pw, whereas none of the Holker players get paid.

Oh, and Holker are currently in a play-off place, whereas Barrow are not far off a relegation place.

Well that wasn`t a surprise was it another home game without a win, 1 win in the last 8 in the league, we have 10 home games left can`t see more than 4 wins IMHO, we really do need two worse teams and at the moment we have that. All these players contracted for next season hope you are looking forward to non-league football because if Oldham & Scunthorpe find some form that`s where you are heading.

Won't matter to some as long as they get the same money.

Agree with you and maybe that`s the problem players will drop down several divisions has long the money is there.

This was always going to be a difficult game against a team now in the top four ...and a team brimming with confidence ... This was exacerbated by an awful start which saw us go a goal behind in the first 2 minutes. We need to start believing in our own ability a bit more ...especially when handed the gift of playing against 10 men . We know we can score goals ...when we attack with speed and rather more directness ( and I DON'T mean long high balls pumped forward !) ...and when we pepper the opposition goal ... but we seemed to do neither today . The defence and midfield needs to be better organised against free kicks and corners obviously . I don't think we should be too despondent at this result ...but we do need to show that it was a 'staging post' in our recovery ...and start putting together a run soon. Keep the faith ( and the support ) guys .

First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )

This forum doesn’t half go on some ridiculous tangents at times; if we were at Holker Old Boys level of course we would attack more FFS

Doesn’t sound like there’s any more incomings due but if it was me I’d still be pushing hard to bring a more physical striker in; we need someone to win some headers up front and provide a proper physical presence when crosses come in
