I dont think we'll go down Nige but it will be scary.blue nige wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:19 pm Well the effort was there, BUT our lack of quality up front is there for all to see ,we needed to push the boat out and bring in 2 decent forwards ( no disrespect but 2 untried youngsters isn't going to save us ).
this 3 at the back at home is not working we end up with either 5 defenders or everyone out wide with only one central attacker , until it gets desperate we hardly get in the opposition's box and when we do nobody attacks the ball with any conviction.
people keep saying Cooper's going to turn it around FFS how ,?
please tell me because we are clueless in the final third.
Paul Farman should concentrate on his own game instead of trying to blame everyone else.
we've no leaders on the pitch and a manager who for me is too negative no wonder the player's seem to drop their heads when we go a goal down.
we are now in a bad position if we get relegated we've had it !
people saying we're OK well I don't know how after watching the last few home displays can they still say that?
I just hope Ellis going means a decent centreback coming in and, hopefully someone who can score-the board has to do something.
Re: Barrow v Salford match thread
I've never called for a manager's head until now we've known all season that we need a big physical striker ! And what do we get ? 3 young kids that are supposed to pull us out of the sh#t we're in, if MC can't see that then he should do the right thing and walk, the fans aren't going to put up with this crap for much longer.

The atmosphere was poor tonight. Absolutely no getting behind them at all. Even when the board went up with 7 minutes to go the crowd couldn't raise a bit of backing to help out. As poor as I can remember it.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:41 pmProbably won’t make any difference but I still never understand why we attack an empty stand in the second half, shoot toward the HS End second half and at least then you get plenty of backing

Tonight's attendance 3510 including 59 Salford fans.
Saturdays attendance 3224 including 358 Mansfield fans.
So 585 more Barrow fans in attendance tonight than Saturday.
That is more baffling than the performance on the pitch tonight.

I can’t be the only one getting fed up of the pathetic nonsense going on in the HSE with these kids more interested in goading the opposition at the fence. Week after week we are seeing this now. The club need to sort it out because it’s getting tiring to put up with. Who would be a steward - thankless task.

Salford were poor IMO and we were worse. Worrying times with three tough games to come. We are still not creating much. It's so predictable.

Well just got in the couple of pints have not made me feel any better, should feel sick but not surprised after another home defeat, we look a very poor side lets be honest its only 2 other Clubs at the moment saving us, after waiting 48years to get back in the League we are going to throw it away after 2years. End of the match White & Stevens both limping bad. Wouldn`t be putting in extra seats just yet.

Re: Barrow v Salford match thread
He moaned in his interview Saturday about the players launching balls at a Young lad playing up front alone. So we did the same again tonight.
In first half Hutton eventually beat his man, put a ball in box, there was one barrow player and 6 Salford.
It awful, White gave more balls away tonight than ball boy at Wimbledon tennis but it's okay he runs around a lot.
Really don't know what the anser is, but a man paid a lot more than me is paid to solve it and motivate and coach these lot, let's hope he can do it.

Re: Barrow v Salford match thread
I still think we will stay up, but unfortunately my conviction in that statement is weakening .. It's gonna be a long haul of a second half of the season it looks like.
Tonight was as poor as I've seen from us. I would now seriously think about bringing in a Calvin Andrews type forward. A big man with experience that others can play around.
How many times was it tonight lumped forward to Harris who was completely on his own? There was no one near him to pick up any scraps.
Again, we just need to survive and start again next season.

Re: Barrow v Salford match thread
Can understand if few are interested in my assessment half way through the season, but here it is anyway. We lost too many games early on, but really looked like an authentic L2 side, just needing a bit of luck. We haven’t had any luck so far, but as is often said in sport, you make you own…At our best we have been good - particularly with the pace of Gotts, Stevens and Gordon. Think we miss them at their best. All three carrying injury, or injured. Hutton is our best creative attacker, but a liability in defence. The centre backs are horribly inconsistent, better with Grayson in the side. Yes yes yes we need a Quigley or Cook type of player, but everyone does, and can’t go out and nab one just like that. Unfortunately in the last home games I’ve seen, the two loanees up front are embarrassingly lightweight. I’ve been a Cooper fan, but for the first time since he came, just beginning to wonder….Two home games on the trot, against 10 men and then very average opposition we have come out noticeably wanting. I’m more concerned about league position and performance now than I was this time last year. Maybe our players as a group aren’t good enough for this league, maybe they are but aren’t being used properly, or maybe it’s a combination of the two.
Re: Barrow v Salford match thread
Maybe the cynic in me but there was money involved against Ipswich and Barnsley - the league however is more important so let’s hope that registers sooner rather than laterliverpoolann wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:37 pm Well I thought although we lost again we put more effort in than on Saturday .Why do we only shoot at goal when we behind. If this team can play against Ipswich and Barnsley well they should be able to at least hold a poor team like Salford to a draw even if we cannot hit a barb door at moment.Blame team not Cooper at moment but thank god for Oldham and Scunthorpe .Need to sort this out soon .A lot to ask of the young lads brought in as strikers at moment.Anyone any good experienced already snapped up got to keep the faith.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
