Was my understanding that Sat. games are not available via your Home Club on ifollow?
Is that incorrect?

Re: Newport v Barrow match thread
We NEED EVERYTHING IN PLACE always, Regardless of who the gaffer is & im absolutely gobsmacked the BoD allowed Dunn to move away from the decent facility we were using at the time!! Bizarre move considering we were just back in the League & had a million & 1 hoops to jump through to comply with the League regs….It just added an enormous load of hassle & upheaval right when we didn’t need it & we are somewhat still suffering from that decision, I believe the inexperienced BoD were a bit blinded by an ex Eng & top flight player….No one is bigger than the club…EverHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 6:20 pmCompletely agree; the full structure off the field needs bringing into line with our league status. No messing about next summer scrambling about for training facilities anywhere we can, no messing about bringing in signings the manager may or may not have wanted (and just the recruitment side of things in general really). If we stick with Cooper then we have to put everything in place so he can’t moan about issues like these (which he has a point about tbh)blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 5:40 pm
The sad thing about this is after last season we should NOT be here again IF we survive the board have to take a long hard look at WHY we are here again Training, player's preparation ( all these injuries) and Cooper's position!
for 3 months now people are saying it'll be OK it definitely isn't!

Re: Newport v Barrow match thread
Correct Russ, The NL is bonkers this season as next a salary cap is being introduced so the ex-league clubs are vastly overspending as it’s a now or never promotion strategy, Crazy how an incoming rule to prevent clubs overspending & become more sustainable has the opposite effect & only 2 will come up & personally I’d love to see both B-Wood & Bromley capture the prize…..The fall out will be biblical.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 12:08 amI'm afraid you don't know what you're talking about and obviously don't watch any other teams bar Barrow. Wrexham and Stockport can both outbid any club in EFL2 for players and have better players than any side in EFL2. Chesterfield got the Boreham Wood striker than was coveted by several EFL clubs. Ther's 3 teams for a start which would be competing right at the top of EFL2. Ther's very little difference between the leagues other than the bottom 3 or 4 in the NL who are very poor.

Spot on. The amounts they are spending are huge although Wrexham are getting the crowds to match. I'd also love Boreham Wood, Bromley or Halifax to sneak in before Wrexham, Stockport and Chesterfieldbut they certainly won't be chopping blocks in EFL2. They all look superior teams to the Sutton team which got promoted and Sutton are doing very well! Boreham Wood and Halifax both have top managers who have worked miracles over a few years.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 2:46 pmCorrect Russ, The NL is bonkers this season as next a salary cap is being introduced so the ex-league clubs are vastly overspending as it’s a now or never promotion strategy, Crazy how an incoming rule to prevent clubs overspending & become more sustainable has the opposite effect & only 2 will come up & personally I’d love to see both B-Wood & Bromley capture the prize…..The fall out will be biblical.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 12:08 am I'm afraid you don't know what you're talking about and obviously don't watch any other teams bar Barrow. Be some rich pickings from the sides that don't go up next year, some of those players wont hang around for another season in NLrussell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 2:57 pmSpot on. They will if they get paid as well as they are this season and certainly the owners of Stockport and Wrexham are easily capable of financing it.Big E wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 3:02 pmBe some rich pickings from the sides that don't go up next year, some of those players wont hang around for another season in NLrussell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 2:57 pm Spot on. Re: Newport v Barrow match thread
Does it matter if you can finance it if there’s a salary cap? In the instance no matter what some players will need to be offloaded. Wrexham are only just in the playoffs so time will tell if you really can buy your way out of that league.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 3:17 pmThey will if they get paid as well as they are this season and certainly the owners of Stockport and Wrexham are easily capable of financing it.
Life is always better when it's better
Re: Newport v Barrow match thread
No chance the National League will bring in a salary cap.
Re: Newport v Barrow match thread
They tried introducing it at our level and it was deemed illegal or unenforceable so was scrapped - same will happen there.
Re: Newport v Barrow match thread
Just a quick google search and there’s an article that says it got voted in by a majority of NL clubs. Cap of £900,000 in NL and £450,000 in north and south. It might get overturned if the likes of Wrexham and Stockport don’t go up this season
