Mark Cooper 8 Game Ban
Barrow AFC’s Mark Cooper has been banned from the touchline for eight games, fined £3,000 and ordered to attend a face-to-face education course for a breach of FA Rule E3 that occurred during their EFL League Two game against Exeter City FC on Tuesday 17 August 2021.
It was alleged that the manager used abusive and/or insulting words in the 91st minute, which are contrary to FA Rule E3.1, and that these words constitute an “aggravated breach”, as defined in FA Rule E3.2 as they included a reference, whether express or implied, to gender.
Mark Cooper denied these allegations but an independent Regulatory Commission subsequently found them to be proven and imposed his sanctions, which remain subject to appeal, after reviewing the available evidence. The written reasons for their decisions will be published in due course.

Jeez, they really have got it in for us
Re: Mark Cooper 8 Game Ban
Took a heck of a long time to deal with the allegations. Might as well appeal it and stretch it out further as there’s nothing to lose.
Re: Mark Cooper 8 Game Ban
Taken them almost 5 months to "find" this out, right around our card controversy.... FA aren't finding themselves in the good books for the club, sounds like they're trying all they can to do another 1972.

I think Mark Cooper has shown great restraint to only be charged with this one offence given the standard of officials we have had this season.

The politically correct rule. Careful what you say anywhere and especially when you are emotionally involved at a football match. Ridiculous

He was shown a red card in injury time. The match ref was male but I can only assume he must have said something to another, female, official.
Don't let the old man in.

That’s the one it’s pathetic and the delay in dealing with it till now can’t be blamed just on pandemic. If a girl can’t handle a bit of verbal concerning her competency on the line she shouldn’t be doing the job.A disgrace .

From the club website:
The Club is aware of the decision made by the FA Regulatory Commission in the case of our Manager, Mark Cooper.
Mark is obviously disappointed by the decision.
Neither he nor the Club have yet received the reasons for the decision, which will be considered with a view to appeal in due course.

It will depend whether he linked her competency to her gender, I suspect.liverpoolann wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 2:31 pmThat’s the one it’s pathetic and the delay in dealing with it till now can’t be blamed just on pandemic. If a girl can’t handle a bit of verbal concerning her competency on the line she shouldn’t be doing the job.A disgrace .

Unfortunate timing, with a game against Exeter in 2 days time. If I was a fan of conspiracy theories, I would wonder why it has just been announced. With luck, perhaps we will hear round about Christmas that last Saturday's match referee has been demoted to referee in the Topps Tiles Welsh Under 16s league

Timing stinks, 5 months to sort it out?
