I date the demise from the game before we drew at Carlisle. Cooper said angrily post-match that the defensive mistakes needed sorting out and he was going to do it. The next game was a bore draw at Carlisle.Methuselah wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 10:15 am Something has to have happened for us from.playing quite well at the first part of the season to find us in the situation we are now in.

Re: Cooper left by mutual consent
Look our owners aren’t fools, a little naive maybe on the football side but having to learn and adapt quickly, they are all sound business men when all said and done. If something doesn’t smell right to them they are all over it. Can see this has been in the offing for a few weeks now. Saturday was just the tipping point.
They will have in their minds someone they feel will take us forward, lessons will have been learned in past mistakes, very expensive lessons!
Looking forward to the next chapter and hoping we get the perfect storm!

Personally don’t think half the people on here deserve what this board have given us. Everything they do they get criticised, every appointment they make is ridiculed. Whoever they choose as next manager ,will be wrong to many, pathetic really.

I think I'd be looking to say to a potential new manager, if you keep us up we'll talk about a permanent position.

Agree and whilst Cooper not popular with many think he would have kept us up.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 11:04 am Personally don’t think half the people on here deserve what this board have given us. Meantime, who's taking training today?, we've a big (and winnable) game on Saturday.
Don't let the old man in.

No training today. We have only trained on Mondays when we have a midweek game. Wouldn’t be surprised if the squad have all been called in by the chairman for a squad meetingMisterPleasant wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 12:11 pm Meantime, who's taking training today?, we've a big (and winnable) game on Saturday.

Re: Cooper left by mutual consent
I don,t think our board should be criticised at at all.Without their astute management our club could have been a financial basket case like Carlisle who are living on the hope their loans won,t be called in.
The board have made massive strides in the short time they have been in charge.Ok there have and will be bumps along the way,but they supported Mark Cooper when he came here and as far as they were financially able to gave him what he asked for.
Anyone who has watched Mark Cooper's recent interview could see that his heart wasn't, in it anymore. In my opinion the board must have had a very good reason for asking him to leave.Could it be a similar reason to why he was asked to leave Forest Green?
When he came here I for one thought he was the right man for the job,but something had gone badly wrong for the drop off in form,it can,t just be the players.
Carlisle are using the same players who were losing match after match, but Paul Simpson has re energised that same team to win matches,so perhaps we may be able to turn around our team if we manage to find the right person.

Re: Cooper left by mutual consent
I would question if he was ever 100% committed to the job. I have never been convinced he ever wanted the job. If you recall he said himself when appointed that Barrow was never on his radar until the club approached him. IIRC the words he used were "the owners were very persuasive" That to me says he never applied he was head hunted.Methuselah wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 12:45 pm I don,t think our board should be criticised at at all.Without their astute management our club could have been a financial basket case like Carlisle who are living on the hope their loans won,t be called in.
