Really good podcast feature on Phil Brown when he took the Southend job first time round.

Some great insights into his previous managerial roles came across very sincere well worth a listen too imo.

People on here already made their mind up about Brown not wanted by so many sadly.

Everyone’s twitchy about the league situation. I don’t think anyone is really interested in seeing how many times they can keepy-up a tennis ball- We need to sense the fight is there in the group. These players know what’s at stake here. They have to respond on Saturday with a win. Saturday will tell us if these players have got what it takes and are up for this.

Why didn't they know what's at stake against Carlisle? and that was even a "Derby match!".

Possibly the motivation they were/were not receiving from the manager of the day.

Let's just see what they do tomorrow, which on the face of it is a much sterner challenge than the Carlisle game.

I think it'll be a miracle if PB can keep us in the football league with this squad. I really dont think that there is enough hunger and desire from within certain players to do the job thats required.
I think to keep us up, we need fairly seasoned battle hardened lads that have been around the circuit a bit and have a bit more nous in terms of 'whats needed' to keep us up. I mean, look at Carlisle, not pretty to watch but, big physical lads that had been around a bit and were capable of going into battle for the cause with a good leader (Simpson) installed.
If we go down, some of these younger ones that Cooper brought in (not their fault) will go on to other clubs and Barrow will become a distant memory to them in their future careers.

Yep, That’s why I think we are a stronger side with Connor Brown, Jason Taylor, Tom White and Luke James in the side. We need strong characters and leaders on the pitch playing every week now. Too many can drift in a game without influencing what’s happening.

All we can do as supporters Mall is to keep hoping things will improve and that the Management and Staff can find a way to keep us up, we still have lots to play for and its well in our own hands.

Sometimes miracles do happen but I wonder whether we had ours last season?

Sticking my neck out I personally think PB has the experience and character to get us the points needed.

100%. Give Brown a chance FFS, some people don't want any manager to succeed to say i told you so. Evatt's gone get over it.

The players do give everything but are rudderless, Brown could be the man to make them click, a team with lack of confidence is all. Over to you PB.

I know Phil Brown looks like some kind of Dr Who character but he can't turn back time - FFS forget about Carlisle and focus on the game tomorrow - all this we need a miracle crap your talking like we are 10 points adrift at the bottom of the league.
