The police officer was the overweight mascot
and on his stag do.
He wasn't on duty so he is entitled to celebrate that surely. Nothing wrong with it as long as he did nothing wrong or illegal.

RE the allegations...

I've heard from multiple 'witnesses' who I trust extremely well, one of whom is an absolute ardent anti-racism campaginer who has in the past called out racism on our terraces face to face. They were stood within just a couple of metres of the alledged incident. All have corroborated that while the player recieved some insults and possibly over the line abuse depending on your views, not a single bit of racism was heard from any of them.

That corner at that particular time was absolute heaving with people, it's virtually inconceivable that someone could have shouted racial abuse loud enough for the player on the pitch to clearly hear without anyone of the probably 50-60 people within earshot of him hearing the same thing. At this moment in time i've not heard a single person say they heard anything of the sort.

Racism is of course horrendous and dispicable and has no place in football or society. IF something was said then it is disgusting and I offer my support to the Sutton player as i'm sure all of our support do, but in this instance at the moment it's my understanding and belief that this event hasn't happened as stated. If that is indeed so, then you would sincerely hope and have to trust its a case of the player mishearing rather than anything malicious from that side.

It's a real shame that the clubs name will be dragged through the mud and already decided as guilty over what was hopefully a case of mishearing or misunderstanding.

Re the match - absolute [SwearFilter] fantastic. If you'd have said before the FGR game we would be safe with three games to spare having gone undefeated and scored 7 goals in 3 games, i'd have called you mad.

And with a late goal, controversial red card, saved penalty and extended added time on a glorious sunny day, what a way to do it!

Here here well said Elaine. We are lucky to have Rickie as our Cumbria Police football officer. Some of his Police colleagues could learn a lot from him with regards people skills. I hope he had a great day yesterday.

Yes, racism is abhorrent, but if players make false accusations, then they should be called out.

I've supported Barrow for over 50 years, and am a season ticket holder, but obviously not a true supporter as I don't have an away (or home) kit! Grow up, and stop trying to discourage people from supporting the club.

If my partner were to allege that I assaulted her, it would be a total lie, but the police would arrest me. They would then question me and decide whether to charge me. Arrest does not imply guilt.

Arrested by the police means they have taken someone away for questioning. In connection with the allegation means just that. It is an allegation not a proven fact.

I would assume that the person or persons making the accusation would also have to be questioned.
