Yep, he.s an old school manager who wants to manage the whole club from top to bottom. Just like great managers from the past like Stokoe and Shankley did.

Which at Carlisle was fine while things were going well but when it wasn't it gave people with an axe to grind a chance to stick their two penneth in and in the end it became a power struggle between him and Clibbins who persuaded Jenkins on the back of the failed incentive scheme to just let his contract run down and get rid of him.

The incentive scheme was great and nobody complained about it while we were winning but undoubtedly it was massively over-generous to players treading water in mid-table but instead of just adjusting or tweaking it the board let Clibbins use it as a bat to hit Curle with.

The result being since then we.ve had a succession of managers who wouldn't rock any boats or say boo to anybody because they were just glad to be in a job.

It makes me laugh now every time Simpson opens his mouth its all about him doing exactly what Curle did running the whole club and doing it his way so right now I can see it going one of two ways either Clibbins winds his neck in and does as he's told or he.ll be back down the road to Yorkshire very quickly in much the same way his mate Reg Holdsworth had to when Simpson made him being shown the door the first demand of him even considering coming back.

Listening to that extended interview on RC last night I'm beginning to think Simpson has been brought in as extra flood defences because quite clearly he can walk on water. The vomit-inducing trio of Newton Phillips and Lumsden are currently behaving like lovesick teenagers. One can only hope that this all doesn't go tits up.

The Prawns have training a pitch at the montezuma shed, plus I think they sometimes train on the arti at Heysham High School.

Everything just happened so fast the ground hasn't kept pace. Until Evatt it was more likely to be National League North than EFL, in which case the ground is fine. However, in football league terms it's not great, but I'm sure the club know that and will be trying to get it more in line with their competitors.

Holker Street is a shi* hole and always has been. Been supporting the club since 1968 but have never had any affection for it or attachment to it. Knock it down - sell the land (if possible) - and move to a decent stadium more in tune with the 21st century. Holker Street is basically an archaic slum an embarassment and considered a joke by visiting fans.
