When I was at the club at the start of every July we were sent a list of out of contract players , it was compiled by the PFA. It used to contain around 600 names, sadly most were young academy players. One year it contained Sol Campbell and Danny Mills! That , along with the dozens of letters from young released academy kids, was very hard reading. I had to sift through the list and the letters professionally .
I really hope that clubs help the hundreds of kids who ‘ aren’t good enough ‘ when they’ve been at Liverpool* from 6 yrs old until 17 and suddenly find themselves out of the club.
* put in any club with an academy.

Southend fans have said Brown likes signing ageing midfielders, this guy is 34 years old and his Wikipedia states he likes winning second balls so could fit the bill.

Hartepool have had a player on loan from Burton Albion called Brynn Morris - word coming out of Hartlepool is that he's coming here next season - he's a centre half or defensive midfielder (aged 26).
