Who Do We Want ?
Re: Who Do We Want ?
The 'obsession' is CREATED by the gambling industry.
Re: Who Do We Want ?
Re Peter Wild will be fully focused on the job at Halifax and depending on outcome of last game results and play offs he could quite well be involved until June 5th and then could be leading up a league side himself. His name link is purely fan generated speculation but why are we even going down that route?? Yes he’s obviously getting noticed but we are without a Manager, players don’t know where they stand and need this resolved ASAP, I don’t think we can look at managers who are currently still in the season with all to play for.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Re: Who Do We Want ?
Listening to Adam on BBC RC Sports Hour he has no more idea than the rest of us as to what's happened. But here's a chastening thought which he mentioned and one which needs to concentrate minds: the first game of the new season is 31st July! (presumably because of the World Cup)
Don't let the old man in.

Yes pre season training begins June 22nd. We appointed Cooper on May 28th last year. We need an appointment during in the next 2 weeks IMO. preferably sooner.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 6:29 pm Listening to Adam on BBC RC Sports Hour he has no more idea than the rest of us as to what's happened. Who would you like as manager Des?

He’s not got any idea all Des does is dismiss or criticize, most of the time his head is buried in a bucket of sand !

Re: Who Do We Want ?
After speaking to some Everton fans I think David Unsworth would be a good shout. One of them said “he does well with young players and has worked with senior players also just maybe needs that break into management and Barrow could be a good fit for both of them
”
Another said he’s well respected within the coaching fraternity.
Give it to unsworth, can’t do much worse than we’ve already had

Whoever we want, we as a club have to be honest re training facilities, forget the Barracelona football ( no chance in this league) have they got the contacts to improve the squad especially up front and with the budget they'll be given where they could realistically take us if we can't do this then we'll continue with this farcical merry-go-round!

Of the candidates on the betting what about Tony Mowbray an experienced manager,no nonsense manager who did okay at Blackburn had a side that ran worked and played okay football and is north west based and would know all the best young players in this area, would he drop down to league 2 I don’t know but if you don’t ask you never find out and as someone who is out of work might be up for taking on a project like Barrow

I’ve got my thoughts, but I’ll keep them to myself. I’ve always said, certain managers fit certain clubs, because someone has done well at a club at this level, doesn’t mean they will do the same anywhere else. The board have done an amazing job at my club, and I will forever support them because of this.they admit they’ve made many mistakes along the way, Cooper being one. Whoever they choose, I won’t come on here moaning about it, I will give him a chance, and my full support.
Re: Who Do We Want ?
Where exactly is he based? Announcing his departure from Blackburn he mentioned being away from home and hardly seeing his kids so I had perhaps incorrectly assumed he was still based in the north east.Broughton Fan wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 1:42 pm Of the candidates on the betting what about Tony Mowbray an experienced manager,no nonsense manager who did okay at Blackburn had a side that ran worked and played okay football and is north west based and would know all the best young players in this area, would he drop down to league 2 I don’t know but if you don’t ask you never find out and as someone who is out of work might be up for taking on a project like Barrow

Our next boss on Sky for L2 playoffs? And I don’t mean McClean
Re: Who Do We Want ?
Realistically, a Championship manager is not going to drop 2 leagues to come to Barrow. So I think Mowbray can be forgotten about, also he has got decent stock, ok Blackburn finished poorly but ended up 8th, so I’d say he’ll get another Championship club.
I’d take Lee Johnson, ex-Sunderland…young, up and coming and only one league drop, so may be an option for him.
