Here's a quote from a Stockport fan on the L2 forum referring to Rooney and Quigley - it would suggest that there may be some truth in the Quigley returning rumours. I think the chances of it happening may well increase if Hird was to get the job;-

Scanning the bolton forum it appears Evatt is re-structuring outside of the first team with plans for an u23/B team. this will undoubtedly need one or more coaches added and may in the long run impact on Sam Hirds' current position. Those comparing Sam to Dunn are slightly wide of the mark. Parking the fact that he has no direct managerial experience let's not forget he played alongside and under Evatt at Chesterfield and HS. He worked alongside Rob Kelly on the 'great escape' and is back again under Evatt at Bolton. To quote him on his first interview at Bolton ' If Ian didn't think I was up to the job he wouldn't be employing me ,friend or not'. The absolutely delusional comments about Sam Hird being a good manager are frankly worrying. Yes, he knows the club, but just because he has been close to Evatt and Kelly doesn’t mean he has gleaned some of their quality by osmosis or whatever other wonderful means may be possible. I’m sorry but one season at Bolton u/23’s for a fledgling coach is not the standard of manager we should be settling for. No other EFL side would take a 1-year experienced coach regardless of being an ex-player or not. Not for me Clive.
