Club Statement: Manager Appointment Update
Club Statement: Manager Appointment Update
The Club can reassure all supporters that work is continuing behind the scenes to appoint a new First Team Manager as we look ahead to the 2022/23 League Two campaign.
We have worked swiftly to identity our top target and can confirm that on Monday an approach was made to his current club to ask for permission to speak to him regarding our vacancy and agree appropriate compensation.
We will keep fans updated on any further developments.

Re: Club Statement: Manager Appointment Update
Sounds like it’s Hird or Williamson then; doubt we’d have approached Wild whilst Halifax have the play offs still to come this week
Re: Club Statement: Manager Appointment Update
One thing, if it was Paul Cox we can rule out any transfers under 6ft 4 inches, welcome back Moussa
Re: Club Statement: Manager Appointment Update
Hird it here first (the puns are endless on this one…) think if it is him, that years experience at Bolton will have helped a lot, and he has the UEFA A licence.

well that rules out anyone currently out of work and Ian Foster as his current job is for country not club - or at least rules them out as being our 1st choice.....

Well at least we can rule out managers who are out of work.
Re: Club Statement: Manager Appointment Update
Geordie journo believes Gateshead aren't the club we have contacted, so doesn't seem to be Williamson.
Popular side since '03.

Heard from a good source on Saturday that Williamson is no.1 target so make sense to have approached today
