Take what reporters say with a pinch of salt. Remember that Barrow denied Bolton had approached for Evatt but since we have learned they approached us with an hour of our promotion being confirmed.

Ah yes. It seems but a moment in time since we had the tallest team in English football. I can still remember Moussa collapsing like a stunned giraffe in the penalty area at Solihull to earn a late winning penalty. Happy days.

I remember walking through the double doors into the crossbar chatting to him, he forgot to duck and cracked his head on the door surround, I didnt understand any of the French swear words

BBC Sport Cumbria tweet says very specifically that Barrow have approached a club about their "manager", not their "coach".

I wouldn’t read too much into that. As much as I like Radio Cumbria, when was the last time they actually “ broke” a story. They just tend to comment on events that are a few days old.

We are the local bbc
We aren’t a national publication with access to football agents on tap who leak information - A la Alan Nixon or Sky Sports/Talk Sport

Everything we post comes direct from the club via a press release.

Press Releases from the club come with a time embargo on meaning we can’t post it until the club have posted it.

AS BBC RC put a link to the very same statement that we have seen I strongly suspect that was it, i.e. we have approached a club to talk to a person to be our manager.
Don't let the old man in.

Noticed on the betting web sites no names are on it for the next Barrow manager think this happened before Phil Brown was announced so is the new managers name imminent?

The market was taken down just after that statement appeared from the club. Understandably so, it’s a market that (albeit to small stakes) is very open to abuse from inside info
