Can we improve on 3,200 next season ?
Last season we had an average home attendance of 3200. I thought that was impressive considering our poor form and the fact that early season gates were around the 2400 mark. I think the lower number at the start was due to a few fans being reluctant to return to sporting events because there was still a fear about how Covid might resurface in a big way.
I’ve once again bought a season ticket and the friends I know have also renewed theirs. Just wondered what is everyone’s take on whether we can improve on 3200 this season.

I think we will definitely improve on this total if we should have any run of form. Like you've mentioned an average of over 3000 at Holker St was unthinkable a few years back. I love seeing it rammed.

Winning team = bigger crowds. I really think its as simple as that. Us (the barrow public) really are that fickle

most fan bases are fickle, but Barrow's last season was far from fickle considering what was dished up.

Im not just talking about last season. Last year we had a bounce from the year before not being able to watch league football due to the pandemic, and tbh some of the football we were served up was awful at best so we did well to get the crowds we did. Coupled with the club trying its hardest to alienate some kids which doesnt help32mile_cul-de-sac wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 12:23 pm most fan bases are fickle, but Barrow's last season was far from fickle considering what was dished up.
If we have a team fighting for the top 10 id imagine we wud be close to 3800-4000 every home game

It was great to see such regular good attendances, many of us remember the sub 1000 days. I always feared then when we went up, if we struggled on the pitch the crowds would dwindle, so well done to everyone for sticking with it. Looks decent in the end of season average crowd table 15th out of 24, fantastic.

Loved going to Holker St last season, the atmosphere, the crowds, money made from from a reasonable cup run,tv money. What,s not to like?
Let,s show other clubs we are not poor little Barrow any more and start climbing the league.
Come on Pete Wilde and the Bluebirds.I have a good feeling about this season.

Always depends on the form of the team and the away support. We’ve probably got a core of around 2500 now that will attend the majority of games and then the rest will depend on offers and our form.
Away teams I’d expect to sell out are:
Carlisle
Bradford
Tranmere
Stockport
Hartlepool
Possibly Grimsby (if they’re promoted) and Rochdale depending on the day and their form.

Re: Can we improve on 3,200 next season ?
I think our attendances last season were more to do with the fact that we'd been promoted into the EFL the previous season and yet fans hadn't been allowed to attend due to Covid. Our EFL status was a novelty which led to decent crowds. However, if we play similar football to last season and are also devoid of decent strikers again I expect to see our crowds dwindle to about 2,500. People won't pay to watch the dross that was served up last season. Give us Goals!32mile_cul-de-sac wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 12:23 pm most fan bases are fickle, but Barrow's last season was far from fickle considering what was dished up.
