I haven't but he's only been at 2 clubs where he's had a good goalscoring record and last season was his best (almost a goal every 3 games) but at National League level.

Waters is a self- proclaimed ‘fox in the box”. He won’t deliver from booming long balls and arcing crosses. He’ll be effective at playing off a CF or from set pieces where there’s crowding in the box.

Billy Waters does have some nice touches when on the ball he has played at league 2 level before without success and dropped down to National League and yes he can score goals at that level but its a gamble to say he will score say score 10+ goals at league 2 level i hope he does it would be great but i have my doubts sadly i just hope i am proved wrong and i have to eat my scarf

Interstate point , because notably last night wide balls into the box , of which there were plenty last season, were very few and far between. No Hutton. No Brough. No Kay. It’s also how Gordon got most of his (8?) goals last year.

Absolutely not no; but we do need another goalscorer as well imho. We all know what Bennett is, we’ll have no issues with his work rate but as we saw with Gordon last year you need more than that to have a comfortable season

I would be happy with Holloway. Great at bringing others in to the game and does a lot of the dirty work up there battling with big defenders. Get him signed.

We need someone to hold the ball and bring the ‘fox’ into play. We need cover for Bennett in that role. Holloway would provide that if Bennett is absent.

There are many references on here to a "proven" striker being required, almost as though a player like that can bought from the supermarket. Any consistent goal scorers are like gold dust in the transfer market, they get poached to go up a league or two, or sideways for big money, and they command big fees. To fill the (apparent) void for us they need to be 1.available for transfer 2.affordable 3.want to play for Barrow (ambition/geography/style of play). 4.be unsettled where they currently play, and want to move. Rhetorically, who is available to come in if any of those 4 factors are realistic? It's naïve to think that it's easy to get this mythical "proven" goal scorer. My only answer is drop the overused "proven" word (unless we were to be unbelievably lucky), and go with someone who Wild thinks can fit in and has the potential to do a job.
