The cross bar was packed, shame no one else could record the audio, although some of the answers were put on social media following the event. On another note,, decent interview from Adam on RC following the Penrith friendly, someone who knows his football, knows the club and town, rather than asking generic questions week in , week out like our former media guy.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 6:04 pmAye those of us that couldn’t make it are still waiting for the video of the Q&A the club promisedBombadel wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 5:56 pm
+1.
7 pages on this, can’t arf tell it’s off season. The question was answered at the QnA about the “jolly geordie” as he got labelled and slated week in , week out for weak interviews when it looked like we were going down. Ppl might make the excuse that they couldn’t make the QnA, but emailed questions were read out at the start

Re: Media Manager appointed
Adam is independent from the club so as such won’t as as you call them “generic questions week in week out” You can continue to get them on the club website though now asked by Matty Dodd after todays game.Bombadel wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 6:15 pm

Re: Media Manager appointed
I personally don’t have a problem with it, Especially if the monies saved is reinvested into the playing squad & makes us stronger on the pitch so we stay up without the stress of a relegation scrap & we can kick on with the vital ground improvements & we carry on getting the Million pounds & cup runs.
We will lose a lot of money before things stabilise & the loses reduce bit by bit until things bottom out.
Surely if we manage to stay up for several more seasons the ground & facilities will be hugely improved & our crowd base should also rise & then the club stock will have risen enough across all aspects in football & slowly but surely staff will be added as & when.

Re: Media Manager appointed
Accrington have used these media interns for quite a while to churn out the EFL stuff onto the website that they are contracted to do and do some of the interviews etc But they are mentored and looked after by a very experienced freelance local sports journalist and a BBC Radio Lancs presenter/producer whos also a fan of the club which means each year they get hundreds of applicants because its seen as a great grounding. Somehow i don't see the Barrow position being quite as attractive especially given the requirement to hike up and down the M6 a couple of times every week. I think they'd be better off combining the media role with another one at the club and putting together a good benefits package to attract a sponsor to chuck 10k towards funding it and finding someone local to do it who could then arrange for someone based at the training complex to do any interviews that really do need doing down there and then forward them for editing and uploading.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 12:18 am I personally don’t have a problem with it, Especially if the monies saved is reinvested into the playing squad & makes us stronger on the pitch so we stay up without the stress of a relegation scrap & we can kick on with the vital ground improvements & we carry on getting the Million pounds & cup runs.

Just as a guide Carlisle have a team of two Andy Hall who is ex military and must be heading for 20 years in the job and given his experience must be on way more than the 25k which is the going rate apparently and who is assisted by Amy who is also now clocking up years in the job and although i.m no fan of their syncropatic style they do churn out a hell of a lot of content accross just about every social media outlet you can think of.

The content Carlisle put out on social media is IMO up there with the best in EFL . Fair play to them.M6 BLUE wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 3:38 am

Re: Media Manager appointed
Watching this interview it sounds like Simmo has landed himself the gig at Spennymoor. With Morley and Johnson managing them it won't be dull

Re: Media Manager appointed
Best wishes to Simmo. I have say though that I cannot see the business case for a Media manager at Spennymoor. They want to be seen as a developing club but they neither have nor need a profile that requires a media manager. They need to do their talking on the pitch and then perhaps their profile will justify one. Think the intern route is a good one for us to explore.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 3:31 pm Watching this interview it sounds like Simmo has landed himself the gig at Spennymoor. Re: Media Manager appointed
Listened to chairman about getting rid of simmo at the QNa thing, he mentioned better content. More from trainig ground as difficult to get simmo there, yet to see this
Under simmo we'd have had a manager interview to. listen to about todays game. Was always on by this time.
