Benni Smales-Braithwaite
Barrow have today secured the signing of exciting young forward Benni Smales-Braithwaite.
After a successful trial during pre-season, Benni has put pen to paper to see him make a permanent move to the SO Legal Stadium.
The 20 year old was a member of Manchester City's youth academy until 2018, when he joined fellow Premier League outfit Southampton.
After leaving The Saints this summer, Benni makes the move back to the North West to provide Pete Wild's squad with a boost of attacking flair.
He twice found the net in spectacular fashion during pre-season, with goals against Holker Old Boys and Witton Albion.

Definitely not the finished article yet but huge potential if he’s hungry enough. Welcome Benni

Oh, heck. Not 'the big lad up front' then?
Welcome Benni.
Don't let the old man in.

Still awaiting the striker but in patches has shown he has lots of ability but needs to work harder off the ball and close down better when not in possession ,one of Wilds projects, plenty of ability on the ball so welcome to Barrow and keep working hard and we might have a decent player on our hands

What I've seen of him in the friendlies he is a decent exciting attacking player.
Yes he does loose the ball sometimes but so do all players who try to take their man on.
He is a very good addition to team

Legs gone or still attached?
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
Re: Benni Smales-Braithwaite
Saw him at Witton game played mainly on left but often cut in to deliver with his right foot. Scored a lovely free kick. Is a good addition.

Fantastic poetry there Mr Moore.
Re: Benni Smales-Braithwaite
Welcome Benni. PW has obviously seen enough pre-season possibly amplified by AT's connection with him at Man City. He is clearly a 'project' for the future but I just hope he doesn't go down the same path as Dimitri Sea or Courtney Baker-Richardson. Ignored, farmed out, forgotten then released with everyone and his brother having a derogatory opinion even though they've hardly seen them in action

CBR was crocked and mid twenties when we signed him.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 9:16 am Welcome Benni. Sea buggered off halfway through the season without telling the club and no one knew where he was...
So yes I want BSB to be different, but you can't blame the club for the other two not working out

Re: Benni Smales-Braithwaite
Can I just say that I’m elated that we have got our double barrelled player back. Hopefully this is the missing link in our squad following the departures of Courtney Baker-Richardson and Aaron Amadi-Holloway.
At 22 letters and one hyphen Benni will be one short of Courtney (unless Benni chooses to be known as Benjamin of course) but it feels now like our squad is complete.
My sympathies go out to Adam. By the time you’ve said ”…and what a screamer from Benni Smales-Braithwaite” they’ll have restarted.

Ostracising or forgetting players does not strike me as being an item in Wild's management handbook. As we know, this was more Cooper's style.

Cooper eventually ostracised the squad, the fans, the club and the town.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 9:58 amOstracising or forgetting players does not strike me as being an item in Wild's management handbook. As we know, this was more Cooper's style.
