Individual cases of people being intoxicated aren't really worthy of a full crusade and 10 page thread against the hundreds who travelled by coach, anymore that it would make sense to talk about everyone who's ever drank in Wetherspoons because a couple of people have got bladdered in one or another and caused mischief over the years...
It is not illegal to get drunk in Wetherspoons.

I don't think anyone objects to the odd can or two on a coach, but if the story of someone getting bladdered on a coach is true, then that could have serious consequences.
Its illegal to serve or buy alcohol if intoxicated isn't it? Where's the line. Once two pints in are you intoxicated?

As always its the spirit of the law and its aims that matter more, eg is getting drunk on the way home OK but not way there? Is it OK to stay sobre on the coach but get drunk in the ground or before you set off?

We're talking individual people and cases here that's all.

Perhaps a solution could be an unofficial type of coach where fans can be asked discreetely whether they want to travel on an "old fogeys" type of coach where the alcohol issue wouldn't be a problem.
We didn't have an option as we were just one coach in those days and after relegation struggled to get 25.

Ruins drunk or not you were never a problem and gave us some of the best laughs on our trips. You were a Legend before you saw the "light" 😂

There isn't an official coach. Transport is provided by a members organisation and not the club.

I also can't believe their are people on here citing exerts from the law in the attempt to try and sink all the hard work that's done by volunteers to provide a travel service that isn't sanitised and regulated like almost every other aspect of EFL football.

As a fanbase we are lucky we have 2 or 3 people that work their pan out (alongside full time jobs) to give us this privilege. Other fanbases would snap your hand off for this.

What do people want to see? Bag searches? Half the coach clients blacklisted?

If people get what they are angling for you'll kill our away fanbase as most people can't afford the alternatives of public transport to further afield trips.

Can’t argue with that the original post was counter productive at best not sure if there’s a hidden agenda.
The Trust have done an excellent job in getting us all to and from football games over the years. There was an isolated incident at Stockport out of anyones control. And we get operation MELT. I have travelled for years on the busses and the only other incident of violence I can remember was at North Ferriby again out of anyones control.

A total disregard of the law because people want to do something which is against it is rather worrying in an organisation I am a member of.
Bag searches have been carried out at many events and venues I have attended.

You disagree because you no longer use the service and it suits your agenda. Shame on you!

If anyone has a concern, please e-mail info@bluebirdstrust.co.uk

That's the correct way to air issues if you would like a reply.

Thanks

I disagree with your comment that was the only incident.
No I don't travel any more but I don't see why I should be ashamed. I am 80 years old and my agenda is health issues amongst other things.
Your comment says all I need to know about you.

I have been asked by the Trust (who run the coaches ) to lock this thread now and repeat the advise posted by them to contact the trust directly about any concerns re traveling on the coaches.

If you have concerns please let them know by e mailing info@bluebirdstrust.co.uk
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here
