No Avanti west coast trains at all on Saturday so will affect football fans up and down the country I would imagine

Upcoming strikes

18 & 20 AUGUST - Do Not Travel

RMT and TSSA unions have called for strike action on Thursday 18 and Saturday 20 August. We are advising Northern customers NOT TO TRAVEL on these days.

We also expect disruption to services on Friday 19 and Sunday 21 August, especially in the morning. Customers are urged to check before they travel on these days

This Saturday yes. Next Saturday is all RMT. Northern drivers aren’t on strike any days (unless RMT) at the moment but I’m sure that will change

According to BBC weather website it’s going to be 36 degrees C in Sutton on Saturday. A bit different to HS on a Tuesday night in February.
I wish everyone playing and watching the best.
Is there a case for postponing matches in extreme heat?

Or moving kick off time back to early evening. Although I realise the impact on travelling to the game will be an issue. If they do make such a decision it will have to be done quickly.

No doubt it will be that temperature, but as we all know weather forecasts cannot be trusted. It's a cliche but it is the same for both sides. If it was postponed it would mean a trip to Sutton in midweek which would mean we would get much less vocal support, so let's just grin and bear it, or should that be bare it - and get a suntan.

I’m sure our fans will keep hydrated too, never usually a problem.
