Can’t prove it? There’s a clip on YouTube of it happening. Won’t be hard to find the culprits if the CCTV is working

the mindless few doesnt exist, from the evidence i saw its a load of little kids, im sure it will be dealt with. the Colchester goalkeeper from what i remember has form using the race card? i may be wrong so dont quote me on thatHitthebar22 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 9:52 amThat was the Colchester keeper, Shamal George, who has now gone to play in Scotland. The incidents from the mindless few tarnish the reputation of the club in general, and potentially do much damage which is difficult to assuage. Yes, a lot of them juveniles, but they need education and if that doesn’t work condign punishment. Easier said than done I know.Hadrian wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 10:25 pm
Thanks again. (Don't remember a Chesterfield 'keeper incident; no matter.)
All the games I have seen this season, back to the friendlies, have been good. Terrific work ethic, exemplified by Gordon and Gotts last night. Pleased to see Warren apparently coming good after shaky moments in earlier games. A good prospect.

There you go….I knew he was overbehind the goals wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 8:53 pmJust checked ifollow when Clarke`s late shot when wide it was 5mins 11 seconds ref blow final whistle then, so only a few seconds over, but when you just want that whistle is always seems longer.
That 11 seconds felt a lot lot longer!
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
Indecent chanting is a criminal offence under the football act, as is using insulting or abusive words in a public place under the public order act. Plenty of eye witnesses around including police and stewards. So no we won’t forget about it. If these idiots are big enough to do it, then they need to be big enough to accept the consequences of their actions.
Often when those involved in this behaviour land up in court, there’s a bank of evidence that has been built up over a period of time. There seems to be quite a few at the ground, on social media and outside the ground giving the police everything they need.
Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
I am shocked that given there was about 10 police officers stood within about 10 yards of the chanting that they just stood there and watched it. Now the club come out and say that they will ‘monitor’ these situations. Once again brushed under the carpet. This small minority of the youth need dealing with by the club and send a statement out. Use that expensive cctv, request witnesses, etc. give the kids a ban for the season with the risk of A longer ban next season, no second chances. It will soon stop!bluebird90 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:01 pmIndecent chanting is a criminal offence under the football act, as is using insulting or abusive words in a public place under the public order act. Also needs collectively for fans around them to tell them it is not acceptable and make a stand.

It's a real shame we are talking about something like this after what was a great performance and win, it's a sadistic thing to chant about. Most people understand it's a minority but it's never a great look as a club having to put out statements about these things, especially given the hard work many have put in behind the scenes that gave us the high ranking in that recent assessment on matchday experience/fan engagement.
Popular side since '03.

Watch what you say about the kids on here. The TMF get offended that the kids they hang around with are getting a bad reputationJameston1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:06 pmI am shocked that given there was about 10 police officers stood within about 10 yards of the chanting that they just stood there and watched it. Exactly, can’t remember which sky presenter said it last year, but he mentioned were punching above our weight, incidents like this add fuel to a fire which we don’t need. Similar thing happened by Chester against Wrexham, who have a rivalry, youth and men were charged and the magistrate saidMatty wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:16 pm It's a real shame we are talking about something like this after what was a great performance and win, it's a sadistic thing to chant about. “Not only are you a disgrace to yourself, you are a disgrace to the club, you are a disgrace to other supporters.”
Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
If there is the possibility that you were wrong, you were unwise to have used that phrase, much-used by racists.
Just for the record, Shamal George, then of Colchester had not "misheard'. Witnesses gave statements to the club and Police. Then-Chief Executive, Levi Gill, acknowledged it in a statement. An interview with a suspect took place under caution but there was thought to be insufficient evidence specifically against him/her to proceed criminally. That does not mean the incident did not happen.

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
Not knowing what the subject was about I found out the young man who died was only 22 years old and on a pre season trip to Blackpool where he was murdered.
He used to attend all games home and away.
Anyone who has had that knock on the door that changes your family life and any decent minded person will have the utmost sympathy for his family, friends and fellow supporters.
This isn't a new problem. There has been an element of those bent on causing trouble since we got promoted and it hasn't been addressed by those who could stop it. I have been at away games where the police have openly walked in front of us, filming us especially on our first promotion season in 2009. Did it offend me? No.
How many more statements have to be issued.

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
This us not the first time chants of this nature have been directed at the opposition. While queueing to enter the Stockport game...the " all in black " crowd in front were chanting " Scott Quigglies nana is dead" . What sort of football supporter are these people??? NOT the type we need supporting our club.

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
Tuesday was the best performance I’ve seen from a Barrow team in a long time. Looked dangerous going forward, working hard without the ball. The new signings are looking great and the existing players are playing with a new-found energy. Pete Wild and his staff deserve a huge amount of credit for this, long may it continue.
Regarding the disgusting chant. It did happen and was caught on film. Look, a young man who loved football lost his life in an unprovoked and senseless attack. If you aren’t anything but grief stricken by such a thing, then I feel sorry for you. This getting at opposition fans and crossing the line to do so needs to stop. You will regret it when you are older and it’s giving the club a bad name. Use your energy to support the team and try to show respect to opposing fans. They’ve traveled a long way to support their team. There’s no need to be aggressive and hurtful. Use your brain and keep your hearts open. Compassion is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.
