Banning orders issued

Post by cuffy » Fri Aug 19, 2022 12:06 pm

The Club can today provide the following update, regarding the abhorrent remarks made by a small group of spectators during Tuesday night’s Sky Bet League Two fixture between Barrow and Walsall.

The Club has moved swiftly with the local authorities to identify those involved, using our CCTV system, and today has issued several banning orders to spectators who were involved.

We must take this opportunity to remind everybody that Barrow Association Football Club has a zero tolerance stance on anti-social behaviour, verbal/physical abuse and any other discriminatory remarks or acts.

I personally am gladdened to hear that the culprits have got their just desserts. Absolutely no need for this type of behaviour at our ground or anywhere else for that matter.

Good work by the authorities, and ultimately the club.

Agreed. It’s a game of football, not a contest of who can be the biggest arsehole. Good riddance.

Fantastic from the club. It’s hard enough shaking the little old barrow mentality on the field. Never mind having morons bringing the club into disrepute off the field

They've got what they deserved. Hopefully this prevents further incident too.

Well done to the club and authorities. Hopefully it sends out a message to anybody else and puts an end to the nonsense that we’ve had since being promoted.

Well done Barrow AFC for reacting swiftly to what seems to have been really sickening behaviour. Mocking death and bereavement is about as low as it gets. But can anybody please enlighten me on what the banning orders mean (ie how long for?) and how they are enforced so that the culprits don't sneak back in before their sentences have expired?

Good. Hopefully this’ll send out the right sort of message to all those who continually look to cause trouble.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Hopefully it will make those who claim it never happens, or want to turn a blind eye, think again about things. It's disgusting that anybody would do it and I hope they never want to come back

Well done to all those involved in ridding the ground of those involved in the latest incident.
I hope their parents were informed as well of those that are minors.
I hope the message is heeded by anyone else wanting to behave in a like manner.

Not sure but I think it means they have to report to the police station every time a match is on.

Hopefully send a message to Walsall with the action taken against those involved.

It is not a criminal conviction it is a season long club ban. There has been no criminal charges.
