There was one on radio Cumbria but it didn't come on until about well after 10pm. I don't know if radio Carlisle has difficulty getting a phone line to distant Furness or whether Pete Wild spends a long time in the dressing room before coming up to speak to Adam. They always seem to get hold of Paul Simpson pretty quickly, perhaps they grab him when he is coming off the pitch

I have so many things to say really.
Gotts must be an absolute nightmare to play against. It's like he is jumping through time and space to be at the feet or in the face of every oppo defender. If we didn't have Whitfield here too then I would be claiming Gotts to be our outstanding star.
On Whits...it's like Decca turning down the Beatles. How the hell did we get him?
The guy that Canavan clattered towards the end must still be in the middle of next week somewhere. I swear he staggered when he stood up finally. And it was a fair challenge too! What an absolute beast of a performance.
I thought Neal was wonderful last night too. How many attacks did he break up just by sticking his foot in and coming away with the ball?
That second goal was one that could grace any premier league game. It was a delight to watch.
Finally...I've not always been one to hang around after the match, I'm usually trying to get back to the car as soon as the whistle goes...but the performances the team are putting in make me want to stay and applaud them and the management/coaching team.
I don't think I've ever been happier to be a Barrow fan.

nb. I hope Glad All Over was just missing last night out of respect for Queenie. Understandable, but I missed it.

I agree Harrison Neal is an absolute gem of a player, quality loan signing and even better we have him for the whole season! His reading of the game is way beyond his years and inexperience, I think he will definitely push on when he returns to the Blades.

We may have to wait for Adam's interview after the match,but it is always worth waiting for as he is not afraid to ask probing questions even when things go wrong.He is a guy who has an in depth knowledge of every team we are about to play and brings that knowledge into his interviews.Like he said Pete Wild had other interview commitments before he came to him,so if we have to listen to more info about the Carlisle game etc does it really matter.At the end of the day we are third in the league not them.

I'm not sure whether people agree but it's annoying seeing gripes (which are usually nonsense anyway) about Radio Cumbria when we should be talking about how good a performance that was.

The gripe has never been about the match day commentary or the Barrow AFC features on Friday nights, nor the midweek focus on the game ahead. I think it stems from having been been allocated MW and DAB+ for the commentary when our match is done we still link back to the FM and the summarising of Carlisle’s game (and then what remains of the programme becomes a “let’s go back to Barrow” feature which gives the impression that Carlisle is the main post match content). Yes It would be great if we could stay with the Barrow commentary team on MW / DAB through to the end of the show (ie 10pm on midweek games) but I guess that could cause timing and link up issues to the next scheduled programme.

One of, if not the, best Barrow performance I've ever seen. We've had more heroic results, and bigger scorelines, but last night vs a team who've spent the last 5 years in L1 and are sure to be around the playoffs this year, we were street smart when we needed to be, calm when we needed to be, brave when we needed to be and attacking when we need to be.

Really impressive all round, Whitfield an obvious choice for MOTM but I think the CMs and defence (Canavan in particular) last night were stand out, i can barely think of a half chance they had largely due to the absolute dominance we had in the important areas and moments when it counted. Foley must have been some player if he's still that good in his mid 30s - and credit to Neal who looks every bit as experienced. Kay seems to love playing for Wild and had peoples attention everytime he got the ball. What a night!

In the past watching Barrow has felt more like a duty than a hobby, but this team is seriously good to watch and get behind, worth every penny of the admission fee.

The first part of my post is the key point being made- that I think the continual “gripe” stems from linking back to FM post match.
