He embarrassed us with the pin point pass to set up Argentine youth international Garnacho for the winner.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 9:22 am Really enjoyed the game tonight, played at a good pace. Barrow better team and deserved more, but I’ve had concerns attacking wise last few games. Thought bringing on huddelstan was rather bizarre really, has never played for United and is a coach, embarrassing actually.

Re: Barrow v Man Utd match thread
Des no Gordon, kay ,Bennett waters Whitfield any team would struggle without those forwards I know it's crap but we've just got to try to keep backing the team, ( I know it's frustrating) as for huddleston I pointed him out and who he'd played for and this young kid couldn't believe it ,so embarrassing not really!Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 9:22 am Really enjoyed the game tonight, played at a good pace. IMO thought Zuk (or someone) should have stuck closer to Garnacho. He had no one near him for most of the second half giving him free rein down their left-hand side.

Re: Barrow v Man Utd match thread
To be fair Zuk played well, he's hardly played and will have been getting fatigued, and there's not many fullbacks in any league who can keep pace with Garnacho he's rapid and I'd be surprised if he's not in Uniteds first team squad over the next few months!
Re: Barrow v Man Utd match thread
Zuk didn`t have a bad game, but still feel if he`d been given instructions to `stay close` to Garnacho instead of playing more central the opportunities for using the left-hand side as an outlet for United would have been reduced. But hey, who knows. Onward and upward. Hoping for a win (and a decent performance) on Saturday.

Re: Barrow v Man Utd match thread
Thought Both full backs played well. Agree Nige we had forwards missing, but some of those opportunities we carved out need to be taken. Huddlestons substitution was totally out of context of that young united team, embarrassing.
Re: Barrow v Man Utd match thread
As for Zuk he played well. Was obviously instructed to move close to our centre backs to stop United going through middle then moved out left to mark Garnacho when he got the ball. If he'd just stuck to the winger at all times United would have moved through the middle at will. As I said Zuk played well and deserves to be considered for Saturday.
As for their goal Soloman lost it in midfield (played well but he did do that a few times over the night) and Huddlestone's pass from the mistake was brilliant. Huddlestone came on at Carlisle also so Under 21's can do this. Nothing embarassing about it at all.
However, and more importantly, we have no one who has scored from midfield this season they need to start contributing in that area of the pitch asap.

Agree with all of that, Zuk has firmly placed himself into Petes mind, Soloman is getting more influential & he's probably not fully real game fit as hes still emerging from injury & after more mins I think he will also put himself in Petes plans.andyg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 11:42 am As for Zuk he played well. Midfielders need to produce more goals than they are getting atm.
All in all not a bad nights footie, Great crowd.
