Many people saying we are playing the long ball, if that`s the case we won`t win many games with them tactics, fans have had that for too many seasons, we don`t want to give people an excuse not to attend home games, it`s supposed to be league football not long ball non-league please sort Pete/Adam.

Re: Rochdale v Barrow: Match thread
After the first few games we were all fooled and lulled into a false sense of security that this year we were a really good team. Reality check - WE'RE NOT. Today's result and 1 goal in the last 4 games confirms that. Wake up and smell the coffee. Unless there's a massive turn-around and today was the chance to do that, our true position is probably the same as last year, 3rd from bottom. On the positive side, we're not being blown away, losing by a single goal mostly, so we should lower the expectation bar and try and secure a few draws, but with a feeble 2 shots on target, our best chance of securing 1 point will be a 0 - 0 draw.

Nailed in there TaylorTaylorBAFC wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 5:47 pm I’m a little baffled as to why we have suddenly abandoned many of the things that brought us success in the beginning. The high-press to the win the ball high up the pitch has completely disappeared and we have resorted to the opposite, enabling teams to come onto us and exposing our frailties at the back (Warren was particularly targeted today). Now, it’s understandable in a sense. You can’t expect to play that way for the entirety of the season because it simply isn’t possible from a fitness perspective, however there has to be a plan B. If aimlessly punting the ball into channels and hoping for the best is plan B, we need to think of another plan and quickly.
The longer this form continues, the harder it is to get out of the slump.
Why have we stopped the high press?
When we never won the first balls we always won the 2nd.
Now we win neither. Team is the same so what has changed ?
Midfield was dominant, now there are huge holes in there.
You don't become a bad team overnight so why have we stopped doing all the things that brought us success?
Our Halifax players are now looking like Halifax players, prove me wrong lads and make that step up.
Wouldn't say its worrying times but we need to turn this around very soon
6 straight defeats lads.....

Last few weeks haven't been great but we are a relegation battling side are we? We need 25 points from 33 games to stay up.SayitagainSam wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:53 pm After the first few games we were all fooled and lulled into a false sense of security that this year we were a really good team. Since the board decided to award the manager and his assistant a multi year contract. We have won one game and scored two goals. One of those was against the Utd kids. Just saying.

People a bit obsessed with with this pressing thing. Remember an interview with klopp saying it took 2 years with Liverpool to get them, the right players in the right system to master it and do it at right times.
Just need good old fashioned closing down and working hard.

Give your head a wobble. Wish I did 90 minutes work a week, sometimes 180 minutes with a mid week game

Strange comment to say that he wants to get back to playing the Pete Wild way. Is Pete Wild not the manager? Does the buck not stop with the manager? So why hasn't he been playing the Pete Wild way?
Like others I thought he sounded flustered in his after-match interview with the questions he was being asked, some of which he didn't have answers for. Just wish Adam had asked him why he hadn't been playing the Pete Wild way, or what he meant by it, but perhaps he saw and heard his discomfort and decided to let him off the hook!
