Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Good confidence booster and the bonus of going through. Hopefully we can perform to a better standard, than of late, on Saturday.

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Post match thoughts from the Barrow AFC manager Pete Wild after Barrow recorded a 2-0 victory in the EFL trophy against Cumbrian rivals Carlisle United.
Also gave his thoughts on the unsavoury scenes which have somewhat marred a good result for his side

No doubt the TMF sheep will come and claim it’s just part of football when in fact 99% of football fans global consume this pathetic behaviour. The police should have Shepard all of the kids singing after the firework into a corner and made an example of the culprit who threw the firework. No need for it in football and definitely not at our club

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Just imagine the fall out & consequences if the keeper got closer & he’s apparently said he was going to walk over & throw it off the pitch thinking it was a flare, He could have lost an eye or finger & his career gone in a split second or it could have seriously hurt someone in the crowd if he threw it wrong etc & it would have been all over the Socials worldwide if blow up in the keepers hand or in his face, very Serious incident that & no place for it anywhere & the club could be in serious bother & if anything similar happens again the FA will make an example of us for sure, Glad he’s arrested & banned for life as it shows the club acted swiftly & hope it sends the right message to these urchins that it won’t be tolerated.
Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Really pleased to see the universal condemnation of the firework incident on here. Barrow AFC have acted rapidly to what happened, and I feel they’ve reacted well.
Every club has its share of idiots, and that includes us in the North of the county. I’m expecting the response from Cumbria police to be pretty intense when it comes to the two league games this season.

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Probably the same [SwearFilter] that took fireworks to Carlisle away last season and launched it at the roof.

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Regarding the firework throwing incident. How about when the idiot comes to court and is found guilty, should the club not make a damages request to the court before sentencing equal to the amount of the fine imposed on the club by the EFL.Just a thought but courts can impose these orders and attach them to any future earnings or benefits. That way idots like him will think twice before doing such things in the future
Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
It’s ok to say move on and it’s ok to ban this cretin for life but the trouble is some other chav in this wretched little group will think it’s his/her turn to be the big I am next and do something as stupid or dangerous. Yes keep banning them one by one but will turn out to be a costly affair in fines for the club. Like someone has said are the stewards not watching them, surely they know who to keep an eye on by now? No need for this stupidity at a football game.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
I make no apology for this, but the club should just see what little bit of evidence they have against this group and ban the lot of them, some already have been but extend it. These [SwearFilter] aren’t the future generation of supporters, but are hell bent on anti social behaviour.
It’s not the first time a flare / firework has been thrown this season, the club and the Police know who they are, just ban them

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Really?
You do talk rubbish sometimes.
Ban them all !!!!
Trouble makers who are not interested in the football.
Culprit is Too young to name apparently.
Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Hopefully the EFL have seen how quickly the club have acted on this and there will be no repercussions on the club.
We saw a similar incident when a flare was thrown on the pitch by a Bradford City person will not ca them supporters.

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Can’t agree with that Mark, the keeper apparently said he was going to kick it off the pitch and if he never a steward might have made the mistake of trying to remove it if both had thought it was a flare - probably seconds away from a very very serious situation. If it had slipped out of the idiots hand before throwing it and fell amongst supporters, many young kids….it doesn’t bear thinking about.
And people actually moan about netting going up between supporters, well right there is a reason why, [SwearFilter] who can’t go to a football match to simply support their team.
Away from that, great to get back to winning ways & a clean sheet. We just need to carry that forward to Saturday now.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
One idiot throws a firework, he’s detained and dealt with, move on ffs. Seating the Holker end, reorganising the ground, get a grip man. I’m totally in favour of banning the lad for whatever length of time the club decides, but these young supporters are needed, and create atmosphere.
Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
It was dealt with swiftly by the club and he got the punishment his actions deserved that’s all we need to know, unless there’s a group that are trying to set up a posse of vigilante volunteers to whip the lad for his misdemeanour.
Players and stewards should know and be well aware of the protocols of dealing with fireworks and flares. I was taught the firework code from an early age as were my kids. Numpties will be numpties best ignored and let the powers that be deal with them as happened in this instance not sensationalised as are certain people’s comments on here!

Re: Radio Carlisle Derby
Another clown behind a keyboard. You know why they havent banned any of them? Because they havent got any evidence of them doing anything wrong. They are rowdy, they give it the big one to away fans, so what. 1 lad threw a firework, hes been banned. People on this thread saying it should effect his future employmentsbr wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 5:50 am I make no apology for this, but the club should just see what little bit of evidence they have against this group and ban the lot of them, some already have been but extend it.
