You rarely come across loyalty above monetary gain often nowadays but this is the benefit of having local people, and a fan, involved in our club. It's where the heart lies that is important.

Well made up or not (you know that for sure do you Mr Font of all Knowlege) fans have taken the opportunity to express their appreciation of a person who works hard behind the scenes without you posting and spoiling a "nice" thread. Can't we just have something decent for once?

I’ve met some groundsmen who have a drink problem - they’re always “half cut’ but Gareth is a true professional.
He’s planted the seed of ambition shown that from little acorns big oak trees can grow.

No not really, substantiate your rumour, anyone can come on here saying rumour this rumour that, it causes unrest and distractions from the positive things that are happening. Regards Gareth’s qualities as a groundsmen, he’s doing an excellent job, and provides us with an excellent playing surface.

I remember the day Gareth came into reception asking to speak to someone, explaining he had his own business but was offering his services to work on the pitch on a voluntary basis.
A great gesture and he put the hours in, one night at 8-30 whizzing up and down on his mower in the dark.
I'm sure he has put many many more hours in than he gets paid for.
A man who takes a great pride in his work.

Quite right, the club would have failed to make any improvements in close season and would have been ejected from the league they were in at the time.

As he is self employed you are expected to bring your own tools.

But not the materials the tools are to be used on. !!!
Plus not as a volunteer.
There is more to it than cutting grass.

Not if the club chooses to buy them. If he buys a grass cutter he could take it away if he leaves, then the club would have to buy one.
