Re: Mansfield v Barrow match thread
Gordon absolutely class today once he came on and him and Whitfield along with waters changeda the game.
Farnam at fault again on the fk but what a comeback!
Bennett needs to be moved on, not the type of player we need.

I had Stevenage on me mind. Even with me blue specs on I didn’t see that turnaround coming but well done Barrow and to those who remained hopeful. Back to winning ways and looking forward to the highlights! UTFB!spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:51 pm
But it’s over 90 + minutes Nige. Everyone panicking and slating anyone and everything after a third of that time.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Two nil down away to Mansfield and then we go and win 3 -2. Am I dreaming? Have I taken too much cough medicine? Well done lads!
Re: Mansfield v Barrow match thread
I just watched brief highlights and the fk came thru a wall of defenders and was right in the corner . It didn’t look to me like a major error by Farman.Craigthered wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:38 pm Gordon absolutely class today once he came on and him and Whitfield along with waters changeda the game.

Keepers side of the wall from behind the goal looked very savable but will wait for replay

A literally incredible win that from 2v0 down, amazing. Credit to that useless Pete Wild
It was actually mostly comfortable once we made it 3v2 as well, wasn’t like they were having chance after chance to equalise. Liked the look of Newby when he came on, him and Whitfield on the wings looks the way forward imho

I was a doubter like many in that 1st half .
Second half very good still not convinced with Warren but made 2 goals .
Newby will cause trouble but I kinda think he is a player that plays better when his team is on top .
Can he dig in when the going is tough ?

That can't be the same non-league standard Newby we signed recently, then.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 7:05 pm A literally incredible win that from 2v0 down, amazing. Credit to that useless Pete Wild![]()

Re: Mansfield v Barrow match thread
At 2-0 down, if someone told me there would be another 3 goals in this game, I would be thinking back to Stevenage!.. That Waters goal really lifted us, and made them a bit more cautious. They played some really good stuff in the first half and if they went in 2-0 up, we couldn't have complained about the scoreline. Good response and a win like that is a real morale booster ahead of our toughest challenge of the season next week.
Re: Mansfield v Barrow match thread
2 down in 44th minute playing the worst football I’ve ever seen us play I was getting ready to set off and go home. Then out of nothing waters pulls on back and it’s half time. After that it was all barrow, thought the formation was wrong to start with and we were just putting optimistic balls in behind for bennet who’s not the quickest. Fair play to wild tho got the subs and formation bang on second half. All three of our goals were well worked, big mention for waters on the third goal (I think) cheeky little flick into warren then a great cross into the box forcing the centre half to turn it in
Mansfield got completely lucky with their goals. Farman poppadom wrists for the first one and ray [SwearFilter] about with it giving the striker a one on one.

Recently? You mean 7 years ago as a 19 yo, no it isn’t the same player, clearly developed and grown since and will be a useful addition.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 7:23 pmThat can't be the same non-league standard Newby we signed recently, then.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 7:05 pm A literally incredible win that from 2v0 down, amazing.
