Lancashire;- born and bred
Re: Players we might be interested in....
We've brought in 2 decent players and i hope they improve the squad. Will more come in ? Go out ? Esp if a few are out if contract this summer. We have a mixtire of hoal scorers in team an no actual no9 to get 20 goals - how much would you pay for that in January? And we wouldn't be only club looking so might have to bite the bullet and accept what we have then improve again in the summer. Get Gotts fit, Kay in team - 2 new lads and team looks a threat. We don't have thr biggest or best squad but we play miles better than previous seasons so lets see where we go this season

Mark Cooper was also searching for the holy grail of a 20 goals a season striker. Haaland is only one I've seen and i don't think PH has deep enough pockets!LCBAFC40 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 7:19 pm We've brought in 2 decent players and i hope they improve the squad. Listened to PW last night saying how he was surprised how much players were paid especially goal scorers which made if hard to find one.
We really need a number 9 .

Re: Players we might be interested in....
National League spending in the last couple of years has only added to this. Once over Tshminga for example would have gone to the EFL, instead Chesterfield were willing to pay the £250k fee and EFL clubs weren’t

How much? Where can I find the documented published evidence of the cost of a CF 9 in the EFL2?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 3:40 pmI think a lot of supporters would be surprised how much goal scoring number nines get paid in EFL 2.
Do you have any figures?
Re: Players we might be interested in....
This season, £250k for Tshminga has returned 8 goals in 22 games, Flash has returned 11 in 24 and cost nothing (thanks MC, a good bit of business), proving goal scorers don’t have to cost the earth but they need good players around them who compliment their abilities, a playing style and manager that they can get along with, to be wanted and welcomed by the fans etc etc.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:03 pmNational League spending in the last couple of years has only added to this. What must Flash be worth on current form compared to Tshminga? Exactly.

So much rubbish said about Farmen. Look at Liverpools Allison tonight. What a shocker, and how much is he on per week ???

What I found interesting on RC I think it was.
Stated that the National League is not subject to financial limits on what they can spend.
Stockport was used as a example how now they have been promoted to the EFL they have to off load players to bring in new ones under the fair play rules.

Yes, that's what they said. NL is not subject to the same financial fair-play regs of the EFL. Whether that's true, I don't know.Pedro wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 8:40 am What I found interesting on RC I think it was.

Don't let the old man in.

Unsure why the police want to look at a load of pictures of my dog and renovation pictures but by all means phone them. Aren’t you the one that hangs around with all the misfit children at the back of the holker end though. Those in glass houses and all that.
