2nd in the goal table with 13 goals does not suggest getting past his sell by date.Fazered wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 10:53 pm Liked Cook when he played for us but I don't believe he would be good for us now. Too expensive and getting past his sell by date. We have a good squad now we are back to full strength who can maintain our current position in the table when they are playing well. We just need to be more consistent
Players we might be interested in....

Doncaster who are linked with Whitfield have just sold their best player to Stockport. So will have some cash

Think you have your Rovers muddledBig_Bluebird wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 12:39 pm Doncaster who are linked with Whitfield have just sold their best player to Stockport. So will have some cash
The last player Stockport have signed so far is neill Byrne from Tranmere
Other than that they signed Jack stretton from Derby who had been on loan at Carlisle
Fair do just and so announced a right back from Doncaster but it doesn’t automatically mean they’d go for Whitfield as that’s a big hole at right back they’ll need to replace

Nial Huggins from Sunderland, it would only be a loan deal as he is highly thought of there. Just come back from a long term injury and needs game time. Whether Sunderland would loan him out is another matter.

32 years old for a striker means he is getting close IMHOTony wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 12:36 pm2nd in the goal table with 13 goals does not suggest getting past his sell by date.Fazered wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 10:53 pm Liked Cook when he played for us but I don't believe he would be good for us now. Just say no to VAR
Re: Players we might be interested in....
Not interested in having him back either! He tormented us at Rochdale.
I just don't like the idea of bringing former players towards the end of their careers back to the club.
Develop some younger players

I don’t mind bringing in former players if there is a good reason. Quigley to me looks past his best at this level. Cook however is clearly still good enough.
Bantam fans are seriously worried about losing him. Not that I’m suggesting we get him back. It’s mainly down to each Manager’s preferences.

Early in the season PW was on the radio with Ryan Lowe at PNE and there was discussion - only half-joking - that there could be players that might come on loan to us. Lowe clearly respected what Pete was trying to achieve and his general approach.
Don't let the old man in.

According to their forum, a lot of cash is what they don’t have atm. Whitfield to Doncaster with 18 months left on his clock would be one of the more bizarre moves during the window.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 12:39 pm Doncaster who are linked with Whitfield have just sold their best player to Stockport. Wild on Radio Cumbria said he is hopeful of announcing a new signing this Monday. Possibly one more after that. Enquiries made for some of our players but no firm offers.

Obviously Mark Hughes isn't as impressed as their fans as Cook has been on the bench for their last 3 matches.Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 3:39 pm I don’t mind bringing in former players if there is a good reason. Yes Lowe was impressed with Pete & kinda said he does everything in the right way & would trust him with any surplus players & that he’s one of the best up & coming gaffersMisterPleasant wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 4:17 pm Early in the season PW was on the radio with Ryan Lowe at PNE and there was discussion - only half-joking - that there could be players that might come on loan to us.
